doing away with the ridiculous "saved or created" claim, but instead of addressing the problem honestly, they are once again trying to bamboozle the public.

Farewell “Saved or Created”: Obama Administration Changes the Counting of Stimulus Jobs* - Political Punch

Quote:
The Obama administration has taken some heat and mockery for using the nebulous and non-economic term of jobs being “saved or created” by the $787 billion stimulus program.

So it’s gotten rid of it.
White House Changes Stimulus Jobs Count - ProPublica

Quote:
When the White House unveiled its nearly $800 billion stimulus package last year, it promised not only to create and save 3.5 million jobs but also to open the books and prove it.

And instead of counting only created and saved jobs, it will count any person who works on a project funded with stimulus money—even if that person was never in danger of losing his or her job.
With another reporting period looming, they are going to try and inflate those non-existent job numbers to make the claim that the failed stimulus is responsible for job creation.

As an example, when Chrysler built 3000 government vehicles last year, they used existing employees and put down ZERO jobs created or saved. Now, under this new deceitful accounting trick of obama's they will be able to claim those jobs.

Is this THE most corrupt, fraudulent administration ever?

The stimulus still worked. It's simply asinine to insist that pumping $800 billion into the economy doesn't create jobs.

You look pretty silly making this argument, over and over again.

So once again Obama and the admin's verbage is under siege.

Translation: Obama's doing a good job and there's nothing else to talk about

Underlying meaning: Obama's lying about how good of a job he's doing, and people are finally realizing that smoke and mirrors don't cut it.

I love it every time a new delusional thread opens. They are so desperate to portray President Obama in a bad light - you can just about bet that the opposite of whatever they say is the truth.

Doing a good job?

The stimulus has failed, the counting of those created or saved jobs is a joke and if this latest scheme/scam by obama to put in "new guidelines" of how to count a job is not confirmation of just how much it has failed, I don't know what is.

Since when did it get so hard to count jobs created? We haven't had this problem in the past, but it seems when you throw a Trillion dollars down the toilet with NOTHING to show for it, I guess you need some creative accounting and gimmicks to convince people you have actually accomplished something.

Well, let's see. GDP has risen 2 straight quarters and will likey rise again for the 1st quarter of 2010, DOW has risen about 4,000 points in a year, the dollar is getting stronger, and unemployment claims have declined. That's actual progress, not "smoke and mirrors".

Forget the verbage used on a freaking website. That's a desperate act of grasping at straws. Here's some turkey for you: jobless claims this past December were at their lowest since November of 2008.

Someone please list facts of any economic news that is great that was a part of the stimulus plan.

Other then the stock market and the rich people who can invest, the stimulus is an utter failure.

I am hoping someone can provide facts and proof that the stimulus did what it was suppose to do, such as the creation of jobs.

We all know the last few months we have had record foreclosures (If jobs were created most of those home would have been saved ), record bankruptcies and his mortgage plan to save homes from foreclosure did not work at all.

I cannot wait to see some facts directly attributed to the stimulus that is a positive.
