GOP chairman Steele backs off Limbaugh criticism - CNN.com
The last time I checked, no one has ever cast a vote for Rush Limbaugh. He's a conservative commentator who offers his conservative point of view, which is consistent with the goals of CPAC, to further conservative ideology. Does that mean that every single viewpoint of every single speaker must be agreed upon by every conservative? Absolutely not. Do you agree with everything Al Sharpton says? I didn't think so. Same difference. Which means that Rush Limbaugh has no relevance to the Harry Reid debacle whatsoever. Harry is accountable to the people for his words and his actions. Rush Limbaugh is not. It's really pretty simple. When will you stop deflecting?

Default "Say It Ain't So Harry" !!!

Harry Reid is beholden to the citizens of the United States. He is accountable for his words and his actions, and he CAN be held accountable for those words and actions.

It defies all logic that threads such as these pop up; nevertheless, they do, so people like myself have to come along and point out the perpetual deflections and outright idiocy that persists among the liberal left.
Good Evening,

Well, Well, Well ... Our own much esteemed "Washington Pettifogger" himself, Harry Reid has really gone and done it now ... thats right now the Manic "Looney Tune" folks whom are totally obsessed with labeling everyone and everything as "A Racist" at the drop of a hat have set their crosshairs on Harry! Of all the nerve !

I mean this is our Harry Reid whom defiantly opposed the will of the American People and continues to cram the grossly pitiful health care reform Bill down our throats with such unprecedented pomp and arrogance !

And yet when called a "Racist" by some within in the "Lunatic Fringe" our tough old Harry simply folds up and issues an appology !
How utterly feckless and demeaning........................

I am no fan of our Harry Reid but would have thought better of him than this pathetic action of caving in to his paltry accusers!

Why would Harry feel compelled to issue an immediate appology when it appears that he was in fact speaking the truth about BHO ?

Harry desperately needed to stand his ground on this one and not give in to the absurdity of the "Fallacious Race Card Players" !

Harry in my humble opinion did absolutely nothing to deserve being labeled as one who made "Racist Comments" ! A close look at the puddin heads who did the accusing in this instance may well reveal a much greater level of racism on their parts than on Harry's.

They should just leave Harry alone because he is doing a fantastic job all by himself of fading into the sunset and very soon !
Thank You / Lamar

These right wingers don't seem to understand the premise of the OP. Let me break it down for you.

You call Reid a racist for making comments that you agree with. What does that make you. If Reid was a Republican making the same comments, you'd be defending him. What does it matter if Limbaugh is a politician or not, you agree with him when he calls Obama a "Magic Negro" yet act offended at the word "Negro" when Reid uses it. Hypocritical liars is what they are.

Nothing Harry Reid said was racist. It's stupid to even go down that road. He didn't say anything Black people haven't said. In fact, Colin POwell said the very same thing about himself a few years back when trying to explain why he seemed to have such cross over appeal.

Oh really? Does REALLY matter who from what party said what? the point is WHAT was said and who (a racist comment from an elected offical regarding our current president)

In case some of you are not aware of this fact, blacks have not been referred to as "negro" since........I dunno slightly past the reconstruction era. So tell me why in the hell would a man who has been around for years and is fully aware of the american (allegely)politically correct system would even make the comment. you can't tell me that he did not know either

No no no, the CONTEXT of what he said is what is important here, since Reid is from the 'good 'party.:smack :. Context? Intent? "Oh, he was making a relevant observation about our society". BULL****!!! He got caught making a racially charged statement, and now it's about damage control. The shoe is on the other foot, and it don't make walkin' easy, do it?! Taste of ye own medecine leftycrats. Not quite so easy to swallow as it is to put in the spoon.

Uh, being a person of color for some time now and having numerous conversations with other physically simliar individuals, I beg the difference. I have never heard ANYONE refer to another person of color as "NEGRO" even jokingly. I guess that was milder substitute of what he really wanted to say
