That is completely untrue according to Article II of the Constitution, and the Fourteenth Amendment.

Is it a reasonable question to ask if a candidate for President is a natural born citizen? Of course it is. Has sufficient evidence been presented to suggest that our President is a natural born citizen according to the current understanding of what it means to be a "natural born citizen"? Yes, it has. Does the term "natural born citizen" need Constitutional clarification? Perhaps, as it is not specifically defined in the Constitution--only citizens are defined in the 14th ammendment--and thus must be decided based on common law.

I know of no Constitutional requirement for paternal citizenship for someone to be considered "natural born", so where does this requirement stem from? Upon what precedent do you base your claim?

I'm a big fan of Lou Dobbs and was sad when he was essentially forced out of CNN. However, I disagree with his position on this birther issue. It's truly a non-issue and one that does nothing to help Republicans or Conservatives. Even Bill O'reilly criticized birther groups and claimed the same thing.

I can understand questioning his citizenship 2 years ago but this issue has been addressed and it's resolved. The only people who are perpetuating this issue are wing nuts. Like I said, this does nothing to help Republicans and Conservatives. It just reinforces any negative stereotype of conservatives. Let's move on! There is plenty of legitimate reasons to be critical of Obama. We don't need to resort to this National Enquirer type of b.s.
