Are there some things we can learn from Poland on how to lessen the impact of a recession?

Quote:
Poland's economy has suffered less from the global economic crisis than many of its neighbors.

Experts credit the large domestic market in the country of 38 million for sustained growth, as well as the fact that Poland did not incur huge debt during the credit boom.

Poland’s relatively large domestic economy, stimulated by cuts in personal taxes and record-low interest rates, helped the biggest eastern EU member avoid recession as investment was stifled by the drying up of credit.

If you are a Catholic white person, it is a good country to live now, since nearly 99% of inhabitants of Poland is white Catholic. Life quality of an average (not too wealhty) person in Poland is now, in my humble opinion, higher than one in USA. Plus inexpensive homes made of bricks, not of cheap drywall, beautiful girls and the the healthiest food in European Union.

this is the chart of GDP growth in Europe in 2009

There is one more thing worth mention. Polish currency plumbed against euro from 1:3 to 1:4 last year. And that had obvious impact on export and still has. In my opinion if you end up in city like Warsaw you dont have to be white nor catholic. Black jews are also welcomed, especially young generation is quite opened to foreigners.
