I actually saw Grandpa Lautenberg on TV lamely explaining that "NJ is a wealthy state......" when he was asked by an opposing candidate why we get perenially get the hind teat when it comes to the Federal dollars.

Thanks for looking out for SC and WV, Frank.
That's what is happening in California, also. The governor wants President Obama to give back some of the money California provides the government & make the poor states wait in line behind California for a change. California, New York, Illinois, etc are tired of having to help other states out all the time especially since we need some help ourselves.

I live in NJ and perhaps of we voted out the corrupt asses we might actually have a balanced budget and some progress. The ONLY reason this state is "rich" is NOT because it is a blue state but because it is where businesses are. It has nothing to do with the political make up.

The fact is we do have a lot of so-called "rich" due to our proximity to NYC and, to a lesser degree, Philly.

How that helps the rest of those in NJ (you know, the truckers, carpenters, house cleaners, secretaries..............) beats me.

IMO, our Federal elects haven't brought home jack for bacon.

In fact, we're at the bottom. Epic fail.

Oh we have wealth people here because of the big businesses. That draws people here.

I agree that our officials have done much of nothing for us here. Which baffles because they keep getting re-elected.

the problem is the democrats and their love for welfare and other social programs...the more they push these programs the more the welthier states will pay for the poorer states. the more they push the "tax the rich" mantra, the more the rich will be paying for the poor.......NJ has more people that are considered wealthy, than it has people below the poverty line...a state like SC has more workingclass and poor than it has wealthy.....its simple math....and there is a simple solution,,, vote out the tax and spend liberals

You know you're right and it should be fixed.

While Florida doesn't receive what it pays it's close while NJ is obviously getting screwed over.

This is unfair and I have a solution that will help fix the problem.

The news is reporting a plan to bring 45,000 Haitian refugees to Florida.

No doubt the costs for free medical, free housing, free food etc will be at least $10 million a day which would be borne by the federal government.

I propose the 45,000 refugees to New Jerey and that way the federal government can give New Jersey the $10 million a day helping to close the gap.

This would be a wonderful solution and with New Jersey being a blue, liberal state just think of the joyful celebrations to diversity the peoples would enjoy. The very thought of 45,000 uneducated Haitians followed up by 90,000 uneducated, voodoo believing wonderful people living in New Jersey instead of Florida sends tingles up my leg.

New Mexico seems to get a bad rap.

Per New Jersey would enjoy a few million Indians who live mostly drunk on reservations?

what im trying to say is that why do we get taxed more just because we make more money and no one factors in cost of living?? all of us know having 100,000 in nj is not the same as having 100000 in south carolina. for instance, on 100,000 i would still be living in the ghetto in nj but on the same salary 100,000 id be "rich" in south carolina. how come they have to pay the same income tax if one has way more buying power? For example: 100,000 in nj is equivalent to say 50,000 in sc but we know who gets taxed more.
and then: if nj is such a rich state how come we are in a deeper hole than sc when we send more to washington? how about getting more back to balance our own state budget? the thing im scratching my head about is how come all those politicians from red states are always talking about "let people keep what they earn",cut social programs, tax cuts for the rich, etc when those things would hurt those states the most.

I only thought the Republican idiots (Our Democratic governor is a major RINO) running New Hampshire were fools but I didn't realize just how foolish they were. NH is NOT a wealthy state by any stretch of the imagination but to get only 71 cents back of every dollar we send is sheer incompetence.
