So companies that provide good health benefits are going to be hit with 40% tax...so companies reduce or eliminate health benefits and individuals have to buy their own...obviously pay more than group rate...hmmm...health insurers get more $$$.

OR more people will not have health insurance and pay the penalty every year because it is cheaper than paying for insurance.

Saga, There are some people that do not want to understand what is being attempted. I do admire your fortitude, however.

Yes, you have to hand it to her for the fortitude. I'll agree, the tenacity is undeniable. Kudos for that.

However, while there may be some people who do not want to understand, I believe the vast majority of those who are opposed to what is being proposed now DO understand and that is precisely why they are opposed.

Yes, I know. I don't know what the fascination with being wrong is, but there certainly are people who are into it. Why don't they take up a decent hobby instead...like making toast. Most of them would probably enjoy that quite a lot once they got the hang of it...

This simply STINKS!!!

I am disgusted how bribes are being paid to special interest groups, or only certain states (like Louisiana and Nebraska) to BUY their support for this sham...

It is so watered down now that it will do nothing to contain costs, and the benefits under the plan will be heavily skewed towards Obama supporters.

Is this the kind of new government we were promised - one that would show no favoratism to special interest groups or the rich and powerful? Is this the kind of change we wanted???
Man, i just wondered what you'd think of the Mormons back in time, especially around Missouri, if they didn't know the ins and outs of our political/government system. (voter bloc) They'd never get to Utah in today's climate.

I understand your frustration, among others, having no voice (nonunion) in the DuPont Circle is beyond reprehension.

Where i differ from you, among others, is seeing "unions" entirely as an "interest group".

Thank You Massachusetts!!!

The Health Care Bill in it's current form will be very hard to shove through Congress now... several prominent Democrats are already saying it should be scrapped and they should start anew...

Yes Virginia... There is a Santa Clause!!

I agree - health care reform in its current form(s) is dead. I don't think that's necessarily a good thing, but it's the reality of the situation.

I suspect that it's back to the drawing board for the Democratic majority, and they will work on those pieces of health care reform that have the broadest support among the public. Of course, if the Republicans continue to vote against health care reform in any form ... well, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
