Hopefully they will.

Ahhhh, we agree, sorta.......I think "the government" could run into some problems by doing that. Of course, political parties and political publications come to mind. I do find it so interesting that the same topics, even the same links, and duplicate threads are so often posted by the "right"........I just don't see that from the "liberal" side so much.

And, no, not a "conspiracy theory." Just "doing business"........and using any means "necessary".......by corporations. Yes, CHEAP PR indeed.

Oh yes those wonderful big banks;

We should have let them fail.
The US will regret not taking the chance to break up these monsters.

This is not capitalism, this is not socialism it is corporatism.

Only the Giant corporates win.

So then I am what democrats want dependent on the gov to provide for me.

Why stay in business? Why open one? Why work hard? The gov can just come along and take it.
It would be in YOUR best interest to support some oversight/regulation of these industries. The TROUBLE started when all the regulation was stopped. And that did NOT benefit you, Jade, unless you are maybe a CEO at one of those big corporations.

Why stay in businesss? Because if you're successful you'll make a reasonable profit and have a nice life.

Why open one? I guess a person would open a business because they would enjoy running a business rather than be an employee in a business.

Why work hard? To make a reasonable profit (NOT cheat your customers) and possibly provide employment to people who LIKE to work as employees, and enjoy your life.

"Then gov can just come along and take it"?!! NO, the government cannot come along and take it. You're just being an extremist and alarmist. You're trying to scare people.......and mostly people who will NEVER, EVER open a business, never ever become a top level CEO of a major corporation........your responses are actually rather irrational, IMO.

Maybe that tax ought to be much higher to discourage corporations from being 'too big to fail'. Plain old vanilla failure where people take their own lumps sure beats AIG failure lumping the entire industrialized world.
They've got to be smoking something. What ever it is it takes all their commom sense away. They seem to think that what ever these big banks and big companies pull is okay. If you or I would do the same thing we would rot in jail for it.
