Isnt that part of the problem? Isn't that part of the change Obama promised? What did he say? No more business as usual. No more of the old ways. Change?????
Did you expect him to wave his hands, say "presto chango, and have it all fixed??
The wheels of government turn very slowly - a decade or more to move an just an inch. No way he is going to cover the marathon of change in one term, much less in one year. He is attempting to change the direction of the wheel - the outcome of which will not be truly determined for additional decades.
Once again, all this partisan BS is a distraction to keep the great unwashed masses from focusing on what is really going on at the top and who is really pulling the strings. You, who blindly lambast one side or the other, are doing a great job of allowing yourselves to be manipulated.
A study finds Barack Obama has the highest legislative success rate of any president in recent history.
But to Republicans who joke Obama has done nothing, and to Obama's liberal critics who vent about the same, a study done by Congressional Quarterly suggests they are both wrong. CQ rates Obama higher than any president in the last five decades in working his will on Capitol Hill, surpassing even the fabled Lyndon Johnson. Obama's success rate in the House and Senate on votes where he staked out a clear position was 96.7 percent, beating previous record-holder Johnson's 93 percent in 1965.
Finn, I am not debating you (the messanger), but just how does Newsweek figure he has a high "legislative success" rate, which according to the story has a 96% pass rate from both houses (meaning 96% of POTUS suggested bills have passed congress and been signed into law)...the only LAWS that obama has signed s the bailout/stimulus's and the omnibus budget bill...all others are still being debated (ie health reform) ....remember the left always screamed about Bush having a rubberstamp congress
I dont believe Newsweek is being Honest in their reporting

The messenger is Newsweek, not me, and the study itself was not conducted by them, only simply reported by them. But I see the source of your confusion since you admitted you actually think Obama signed only two bills into law in 2009.
Your worldview would determine whether you think this is a good thing or a bad thing. Woodrow Wilson got a lot of legislation passed, but I think that a good portion of what he accomplished has led to the near demise of personal liberty. Some, however, would disagree, believing that without central government control, people would be trampled by greedy corporate interests.
Problem is, what keeps the people from being trampled by greedy government interests?

The next election.
