and no i don't necessarily agree with the Op that the republican party is racist party as whole but neither is the democrat party, there has always been underground movements of pro civil rights democrats around the late 20's

20% of Americans identify themselves as Republicans
http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/political-media/the-incredible-shrinking-gop-only-one-in-five-self-identify-as-republican/

So at best, only 13% of Republicans could be expected to be Republicans… right?

Except that isn’t accurate either.

Because the fact is only 7% of black people identify as republican.
http://people-press.org/report/?pageid=750

So let’s follow the numbers.

304,000,000 Americans X 20% Republican Population = 60,800,000 Republicans in America
304000000 Americans X 13% Black Population = 39,520,000

39,520,000 Black Americans X 7% Black Republicans = 2,766,400

So out of a total population of 60,800,000 Republicans only 2,766,400 are black.

That means only 4.5% of republicans are black.

In addition only 5 of the 39 black members of congress, represent districts that have a white majority.

Considering these numbers, Democrats aren’t doing a bang up job of getting white people to vote for black representatives.

If we use that as the standard, roughly 2% (1.9%) of democrat districts are majority white and represented by an African American.

Now 63% of black people are Democrats and only 7% are republicans. If we use then 5 members and look for 7% of that number, then we are actually saying that there should be somewhere less than 1 black republican in congress right now!

Guess what? There is somewhere less than 1 black republican in congress right now!

Bottom line here, you think Republicans are racists because they don’t have blacks in congress, but based on the numbers there really should not be any.

Your logic breaks down when facts are applied.

But he didn't always speak out against Iraq. He recommended going into the country..

I am not sure what your agenda here really is or what you hope to prove? Whatever it is, I don't think it is working..

OMG, you will not let this die will you..?? OK we all know, at this particular minute there are no black in congress, there have been in the past and will be again and it has nothing to do with Republicans being racists..Thomas Sewell had a column about this in our paper this morning. And he certainly didn't say anything about Repbulicans being racists..

Nita

oh and for Finn Jarber, I have been voting for blacks and yes, democrats for years...Not often, but certainly have and will continue to if the candidate believes closely in what I believe in.
