My dad canceled his health insurance last year, because he didn't want to pay for it anymore. He's choosing to pay cash, now if this bill passes, he will be forced to buy health insurance. This is unconstitutional. It's against the law for the government to make you buy something. Now, some will argue that the government makes us buy car insurance, but you don't have to buy a car. Everyone is gonna be forced to have insurance or pay a fine. HUGE class action lawsuit coming. HUGE.

I actually think it will be rather quick, and with deep pockets funding it..

Just think, if its successful, what other ramifications it would have. Social Security for example.

If you Have a car you have to take responsibility for it, but you're right, you don't have to own a car. If you have a body, you have no choice and you have to take responsibility for it just like your car.

Hey, the government was ready to take over responsibility for your body with universal health care but you guys shot it down. Now you're complaining that you have to be responsible for your own body's care. Make up your mind.

Unless they've updated the two proposals, your dad would pay a fee each year for the privilege of going without insurance. He wouldnt be "forced" to buy insurance.

No one would be "forced" to buy insurance.

Maybe his dad just won a lottery, or Nobel prize. Anyway, a super dad for sure.

I can't afford it. And I have yet to read what it will actually cover. I will not blame people for using every possible opportunity to get as many things done health wise, if the Gov is going to force it on us. Will there be a run on knee replacements, back operations, etc, or does this just cover pneumonia on wednesdays for 26 year old redheads ? I won't be able to afford 200 bux a month. I bet this is just another pat on the back for the drug czars.
