Normally I'd be ok with this, but legislation is often tailored to be favorable towards corporations rather than the people, with regard to lawsuits etc. For example, how come doctors aren't permitted to offer fixed price health care if they deem it in their best interest? It's because the insurance companies lobbied to get legislation claiming that the doctor is somehow selling insurance without a license.
