Were all of the economists who said we were on the edge of a Second Great Depression wrong?

So, in order for there to be a fair comparison, we should wait until 2011 before making direct comparisons between Reagan and Obama on the American economy.

That would be true except Reagan didn't throw a trillion dollars away on a failed "stimulus" that created zero jobs. For that reason, BO has already failed.

Washington Times - RAHN: The experiment

That's because he was asleep in the meetings.

Reagan was an idiot. Why conservatives hold that moron up as some kind of model president is beyond me. He was an old fool and his administrations policies initiated the free fall of our middle class.

Ask seven economists the same question and you'll get eight answers.

The downturn would have been much worse if it weren't for the stimulus, according to private economists.

I would say Reagan because he ahd both double digit unemployemnt and double digit inflation.Besiudes that he had the hostage crisis in Iran which was quickly solved because the Iranians wanted to thumb their noses at Carter.

He inherited the inflation, he didn't inherit the job loss.

Not to mention outragous interest rates on borrowing, which is where we're heading again if Obuma doesn't stop p*ssing off Wall Street, the Banks and any other semblance of free market capitalism.

Reagan was a real man with character and backbone, and communicated in a strong, credible diction. He didn't take any crap from anyone (hello, Moammar Qaddafi?).

Obama Hood and His Merry Men (Congress) want to apologize for America to countries that owe us money, and destroy free markets and punish those who have the "new" dirty word in Washington - profits. Absolutely zero backbone in this latest incarnation of incompetents.

HAD??? Create some jobs. Obama has yet to address the financial crisis. A good start would to stop scaring/demonizing the private sector. Stop nationalizing our private sector piece by piece; and what Obama doesn't nationalize, he might want to consider to stop expanding gov't into it - otherwise, three more years of this record unemployment, this economy and his failed reelection. NJ, VA, MA - read the tea leaves.
