Unfortunately, that trend can be observed in many places around the world, not just in the US. I guess it is the result of old myths and misconceptions that are kept alive by those benefiting from that system. Myths like that everyone can make it if only they work hard enough. That may have been true to a certain extent 50 years ago, but today's world is very different. It is all about skills and education, without them you won't get very far. So all those who don't have the means or capabilities to get a good degree, are kind of doomed.
A HS education is free, a 2 year degree in CA is dirt cheap. You can work a pretty crappy job to get by on for that last 2 years for a 4 yr degree if you want it bad enough.
I work with many that came from the hood and they are proud of their successes. Anyone can still do it if they really want to.
Who cares what they earned, they paid for all you guys to bum around on welfare.
I'd be appreciative of the fact they provide jobs and a massive portion of tax revenue. I think they are carrying more water than anyone and should be thanked instead of castigated. What do they have to apologize for?
Bum around on welfare???? Nice try but not gonna work. Everyone in my family works very hard. Why do you think they should pay a lower rate? If they make 75% of the money pay 75% of the taxes. Simple. Why should someone who makes 90k pay ss tax on every penny but someone making 500k only pays on the first 90?
why do you think corporations provide jobs? because they really like helping people no because every person they higher makes them money. Thats what business is about.
That's part of success... what part of that can't you see... people who are successful don't spend all their successes... they build their own wealth and there is nothing wrong with that... unless you are a socialist..
what part don't you get that really no one works there way into the top 1% of this country. They are born or marry into it. Just saying work hard and everyone can do the same thing does not make it true. You need way more than a work ethic to close to the top 1%

I also think that education is the key.
But it depends on the individual school district. There are reaaally bad schools, especially inner-city schools, suffering from crime, drugs etc. Graduating from one of them is little better than not attending high school at all.
In Germany they have a 3- or 4-level HS system and some kids don't even manage to finish the easiest type of HS. Nobody wants those kids, not even when they graduate, let alone when they quit. They are like a lost generation.
Let me get this right... if you are successful, you will be poor? What logic are you using? Are your socialist blinders on? Does that mean 99% of the successful don't "pay the bill", that's BS and success envy... The successful don't fritter their money away, what else do you think they are going to do? If they don't waste their money away, that means wealth will naturally concentrate money in those ranks... "wellbeing of society" is SOCIALISM, you are asking for redistribution of success.. there is no genetics to it at all, theft of someone's income IS socialism... and that is what you are asking for...
there is your other key word of success envy. You do realize that places like south africa have tremendous concentrated wealth ang huge gaps. It is not good for society. We should not treat the world as a dog eat dog competition. You would rather see a select few live large while 95% struggle and get urinated on.....Hate to tell you but I doubt you are in that 5%
If wealth people were wise they wouldn't pile up wealth? That's called stupidity... So people shouldn't pile their wealth and just give it away... when is the last time you worked for months for free? For the benefit of society... I could easily say that all poor and middle class be FORCED to contribute two months without pay for the benefit of America... I don't force people to work for free... that would be what socialists would want and I don't agree with it...

The problem with the liberal arguement in light of this information is this; they claim that we live in a zero sum economy. Meaning, there is a finite amount of wealth and the rich "have all of it". THe problem is, we don't live in a finite world, meaning there isn't X amount of value in our economy and thats it. Thus, the argument that its all being hoarded at the top, and thus that explains why people have none at the bottom is incorrect.
The liberals have to find a way to connect the two. They are the party of victim type mentality. Joe is poor because Tom is rich. No. That isn't how it works. Tom being rich has nothing to do with Joe being poor; or vice a verses.
Our society is willing to pay for anything. They will pay for thoughts, they will pay for ideas, they will pay for water in a bottle. For this reason, there is no "cap" or finite amount of wealth. Anybody that doesn't have money hasn't found something to sell in the market. Thats simply all it is.
This link that is being created to explain the income gap is the biggest failure of the argument of the liberal left. Our innovation and development has decreased over the 70-90s time frame too... that has nothing to do with money. Our society has given up on the idea of capitalism and using the system for their own personal gain. A concept that helped us become as successful as we are. Now, its just easier to take a job make 5 bucks an hour and claim you are a vicitim of some fake theory.

The only people that do that are the SUPER-rich... those that earn in excess of 1 M a year... Last time I check, the liberals don't want to target the SUPER-rich, they want to target EVERY wealthy person EXCEPT the SUPER-rich... The SUPER-rich pay about 15% taxes which means they escape more than 20% of their taxes... last time I check, the SUPER-rich include CEOs, celebrities, athletes, and business owners with celebrities and athletes at the top... there is a reason why that tax cheats don't get named cause you would recognize them and their LIBERAL agenda which accounts for 99% of those in those ranks...
