I find it fascinating that Senators are NOT divided by party lines on voting for Bernanke having a second term as Federal Reserve chair or not. I see Bernanke as symbolic of the status quo more than any person living on this earth today. So while everyone is caught up in Democrat Vs. Republican what I see emerging is Wall Street Vs Main Streeet,

I find it most telling that more Democrats than Republicans favor Bernanke getting reconfirmed. Yet the most liberal Dems such as Feingold and Boxer are coming out against Bernanke. This is probably partly due to principal but also motivated by wanting to get re-elected, Regardless I respect these liberals Dems who will vote against Bernanke (and I'm a conservative!)..I feel these libs are the only Dems who don't just talk the talk about having compassion for the common person..this action shows they truly do,

The Reps who will vote for Bernanke tend to be the more moderate ones. So we will have a team of the most conservative Republicans and most liberal Democrats on the side of the people while the moderates will be fighting for the status quo and the establishment This is totally different from anything I have seen before. What makes this all the more juicy is that the Senators who do the "safe" thing by voting for Bernanke will be the ones most in danger of having voters furious at them and voting them out. What interesting times!.
