I was 19 on Nov. 2008 and I voted for Obama because

1) Stance on social issues such as abortion, gay marriage, less harsh penalties for possession of marijuana, supporting raising the min. wage, more college money, etc
2) Said he would stop the war in Iraq and focus on Afghanistan
3) Said he would close our illegal foreign prisons
4) Promised to reset our relations to other countries, which I believe he did
....
mccain on the other hand was just another bush

GOOD FOR YOU. At least you had "reasons" (flawed ones) But at least you thought them out. That cannot be said of most of your peers.

Really, how do you know that? You should know enough not to believe everything you see in the media, including that stupid youtube video that gets posted here about every other day purportedly (but not really) showing a woman saying Obama will pay her bills. My daughters could probably give a more coherent answer to why they voted for Obama than many Tea Baggers could give for whoever they voted for.

RVA-jsn20, McCain would have been worse than Bush! He wanted to stay in Iraq even if it meant another hundred years! His economic advisor Phil Gram said Americans whine about the economy too much & that this was a "mental recession"! I shiver to think where we would be now if he was in power.

They were truly there only because Obama was black.

How long before this country elects another black man?

After 4 years of enduring the shrieks of "Racists", "Bigots", and worse; a relieved and wiser America will move on.

Following this dismal attempt in Liberal social engineering, at least we'll be able to mark off "elect a Black President" from the National checklist.

Next on their shortlist, Liberals will demand a female President, an Hispanic, a Gay, a Transsexual, an Illegal, a Wiccan, a Druid, a Muslim....

McCain was not the right choice either.
We were doomed either way in 2008.

Its time to elect more Indpendents to keep Checks and balances against the 1 ..I mean 2 parties.
