Instead of juicy pork chop bill, lets instead put that money into public campaign finance reform and end the corporate stranglehold on Washington.
Oh, and here's an even crazier idea. We actually get our government to make trade agreements that *gasp* stimulate jobs here in the states rather than China.
But who am I kidding, what reputable person would come up with that kind of nonsense? I mean, really?
Have you noticed any records about the past 20 years? Like that the corporations tend to give about as much to one party as the other? They aren't stupid in that they keep their bread buttered on both sides so whoever wins will owe them. Do you really think that that decision gives the Republicans some kind of advantage?
Yeah, they do that every ten years, boom or bust. It's in the Constitution, you know...
it looks like this one is already in trouble:
WASHINGTON — The 2010 census is already in trouble.
The hand-held mobile computers that are supposed to replace the pens and paper long used by census takers aren't working properly, and delays could send the cost from $600 million to as much as $2 billion.
The Census Bureau has done little, if any, planning for what to do if the handheld mobile computers can't be made to work. As a result, an important census dress rehearsal this spring has been delayed by a month as the agency looks for backup plans.
"I cannot over-emphasize the seriousness of this problem," Census Bureau Director Steve Murdock told a Senate hearing this week.
That same day, the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, designated the 2010 census a "high-risk area."
We don't have a debt problem. We have a demand problem. If you aren't trying to step up your spending in reasonable and responsible ways, you are part of it.
yikes! that is some interpretation.....
another stimulus equals more debt. the more debt a country holds, the less money it is able to put away in savings and reinvest in the nation's economy.
The last stimulus bill was nothing more than a placebo. Where did the money go and didn’t Obama just get done bragging that we have a lot of left-over money from the last stimulus plan plus some money that the Wall Street/ Auto Companies paid back?
Freaking Robin the Hood at it again! We need another stimulus bill like we need a second term for this clown!

Seriously...what a way to try guilting someone to spend. What about saving for capital formation or investing? Is that taboo to the Keynesian village idiots?
Where was all this pork? What should be done to "really bring some jobs back"?
Where?
Well Big Joe declared he was the sheriff of the stimulus, we can start by asking him what he found. After all I’m sure he found something right? Some government waste….anywhere??? Maybe a little Joe? Tell us what you came up with sheriff Joe.
Sheriff Joe, how about that $300,000,000 for a GPS helicopter to hunt for radioactive rabbit droppings.
Maybe the $30,000,000 for a baseball complex Eh Joe?
Microsoft’s $11 bridge?
Or here’s a great one that Joe blew wide open, $800,000 for Democrat Murtha’s personal airport.
Joe really, $300 each for signs to tell us that stimulus money being spent here?
Snow making machines for Minn, ?
Maybe we should rethink the $528,000,000 given to the reverend Al Gore’s car company to build a $90,000 sports car…..in Finland.
Here’s one you will really like.
Should we really be paying government employees an average of $30,000 a year more than the private sector?
But really, if there were any stimulus spending waste going on I’m sure sheriff Joe would have found it.
What should be done to really bring back jobs? How about you leave the money with the people who create real permanent jobs that Americans need rather than confiscating it for the government to create low level temporary jobs that the Americans don't need. Oh but then the government wouldn't control where the money is spent now would it. We don't get a very good return on our tax investment by allowing the government to spend it for us, never have.
If at first you don't succeed, do more of the same.
