That's horrible that the hospital would go against the wishes of the parents. Is this what would happen with socialized medicine here?

No parent wants their child to die, protecting ones children is very natural. "Medical futility" cases are heartbreaking for everyone involved, and sadly a huge part of medical treatment is making end of life decisions. This is being very wrongly confused with euthenasia. Once you step over the hospital threshhold life and death issues are very complicated. Just because modern medical advances mean a person can be kept alive indefinitely does not mean they should. In an ideal situation these decisions are made by ethics committees which comprise specialist physicians, spiritual advisors, family advocates, and social and mental health workers.

I knew someone was bound to make such a statement. Where is the article did it say this was a fiscal decision? All I have read about this case states this was a clinical decision.

Yes, in a 4-3 decision, the Royal Canadian Death Panel decided that the child was disposable. Too bad he was white. If he had been a minority, he would have been eligible for a special government program which could have saved his life.

If you do not know that socialized government run health care is BAD for you then you need to post in the electronics forum or something.

Amazing that you cannot see what even is happening.

Hint

Obama feels that old people are disposable and a waste of money.
Since he feels they have no value, time from them to go.
Look up the "taking of the pain pill" speech the moron gave.

KEEP THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF MY HEALTH CARE PERIOD.

It is irresponsible to continue spewing nonsense about the Canadian healthcare system when you obviously know so little about it. Using general terms such as "socialized government run health care is BAD for you" is meaningless rhetoric unless you back it up with legitimate links.

My 80 year-old mother had major surgery in Canada on Friday. She was not on a wait-list, and she's doing very well now. And not once was the term death-panel mentioned in her health care plan.

I can see what is happening, and so can everyone else involved in the health care system as it is now in the US, it is badly broken, and can't continue unchanged. What is your solution?

Are you seriously incapable of having any kind of intelligent debate, or were you just aiming to get hussein and eugencist together in a post?
