A growing government, funded by taxing production (companies, laborers), will create new production, by taking MORE from producers, and destroying more jobs, but will create "new jobs" - in government.
Makes sense, right?

Bad snake.
They will be so happy to create 50,000 census jobs and will tout that for months.
From Obama's speech, he said he wanted private sector jobs and that he wanted to foster "an environment" for private sector jobs to grow... I will wait and see to see if he was lying or telling the truth...

His idea of taking away the capital gains tax for small bussiness owners is a good idea. The problem is it won't see the light of day with the {D}s running congress.
Every job listed on recovery.gov is either a government job or a job so connected to government that it would not exist but for government. The clean energy industry? It would not exist, but for government subsidy. Construction? We are talking about roads and other infrastructure — jobs that will go away once the project is done and the whole way through is dependent on the government.

I really don't see where this benefits small businesses. Capital gains would apply for investors in a business or if a small business owner were to sell off some his assets that appreciated in value.
I'm not an economist, so can someone explain how this affects small businesses. Besides a Realtor, would this reduction in capital gains taxes benefit a auto repair shop, a truck driver, the local restaurant or parts store, or is this a limited type of benefit?

Congress will never go for that; it sounds too "Republican" in thought.
"Third, we need to export more of our goods. Because the more products we make and sell to other countries, the more jobs we support right here in America. So tonight, we set a new goal: We will double our exports over the next five years, an increase that will support 2 million jobs in America. To help meet this goal, we're launching a national export initiative that will help farmers and small businesses increase their exports, and reform export controls consistent with national security"
He is apparently going to double exported goods by presidential decree also.
