Actually I've already gone. Tomorrow I'm going to get an MRI. If they find something that can be corrected surgically I want that surgery. If medication will work I want that. If physical therapy is indicated I want that.
Why? I want to run on my treadmill again. I want to walk through the woods with my dog. I want to run cross country with my son again. If modern medicine enables me to do all of the above I want modern medicine.
I am sorry that your knee is hurt and I really hope it gets better
I believe some are saying that if you can take a pill to fix your illness then just take the pill. Obviously you cant just take a pill to fix your knee problem so its silly in my opinion to compare the 2
But what if you were laid off, did not have money for insurance once COBRA runs out and/or even worse had a pre-existing condition ... and could not get that MRI/surgery/therapy?
Hope all goes well. Trust me, I use my insurance too if needed.

I had surgery and no insurance it is possible. I broke both bones in my wrist. I completely shattered one bone. I needed to have pins put in.
Yes we need to do something to help those with pre existing conditions. But I just dont do well with the thinking that you cant have surgery unless you have insurance. I know better
I guess some could be annoyed because I am not going to take Dr BO's advice and see if a pill works.
You are misinterpreting what he said. He meant to try the simplest thing first. You don't kill a fly with a sledgehammer, in other words. If surgery is indicated, you should get it.
sorry about your knee. thanks for sharing. did you fall off your threadmill or trip over your dogs leash?
Neither. It appears to be malady that we've yet to cure; old age with wear and tear.
