"The White House ordered the Justice Department on Thursday night to consider other places to try the 9/11 terror suspects after a wave of opposition to holding the trial in lower Manhattan."

White House asks Justice Department to look for other places to hold 9/11 terror trial

But now they are on a scouting trip to find a new location. Say, aren't the Obama and adjoining Rezko property in Chicago vacant at this time? Maybe Pelosi will volunteer San Francisco?

Apparently, though, they are still gung-ho for a civilian dog and pony show that will compromise intelligence info and give KSM a stage to spout his anti-American sentiment. Besides Bloomberg and his police chief, does the president really think the opposition has to do with cost?

Bloomberg doesn't want the trial in NYC. Sen. Feinstein, Webb and others have called on Holder/obama to reconsider.

The politics and the cost ($200 million+) is just too much pressure to bear for a show trial.

If Congress won't fund the trials in NYC, Obama and his "Justice Dept." can't do anything but find another venue. Bloomberg would be negligent as Mayor if he failed to oppose it for the cost and circus it would bring to NYC.

Chicago is out ever since Meigs field was torn up by the mayor. No high priced politician could effectively fly in, grandstand, and fly back to DC in one day.

Apparently you forgot that Bloomberg was all up on this when it first was prposed like a fly on...you know. Now all of a sudden he's deciding it's going to cost NYC $1bill. during this process. You know how you guys love to say "flip flop"? There you go. I personally could give a crap where it's held...bring it.

Yep, he caved. Why would these two idiots think giving terrorists a lawyer, citizenship rights and spending 100's of millions on a trial and a defense a good idea.

He's still going to try and find an "isolated" place to try them.

Moving the trial would be a setback for President Barack Obama. His administration has spent weeks defending its handling of terror threats following the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a Detroit-bound airliner, a case that reignited the debate about whether such terror suspects should face civilian or military justice.
On nearly every issue, he is on the wrong side.
