Nevertheless, liberals are on to something when they question the IQ not of the conservative politicians themselves, but of some of the voters they represent. A certain bloc of the conservative electorate may very well be less intelligent than its liberal counterpart. Lazar Stankov, a visiting professor at Singapore’s National Institute of Education, published “Conservatism and Cognitive Ability” earlier this year in the peer-reviewed journal Intelligence.

Provocative, yes. But two important caveats are needed. First, by “conservatism” Stankov does not necessarily mean people who favor free market economics. He has in mind a kind of traditionalism probably best described as social conservatism

No real surprise here. Remember this study doesn't show that all conservatives on average have a lower IQ than liberals, but conservatives that identify themselves as social conservatives AKA Christian Taliban tend to have a much lower IQ than liberals and conservatives that are socially liberal. Explains a lot about some of the post and posters on this board.

If this is true, it probably reflects the tendency of many conservatives to resist any kind of change, no matter how sensible or beneficial.

It goes to show that social conservatives aren't really conservative. They ride on the coattails of libertarians with regards to fiscal policy and support leftist big-government agendas such as amendments to prohibit gay marriage. The fact they believe in their psychotic minds they're actually conservative is further evidence of their suppressed IQ scores.

And this post also explains a lot about yourself as well. Sad that so many people resort to studies about other people to make themselves feel better. Do you really think anyone identified with this group are going to lose any sleep over what you think about them?

This person alone proves the study is true

I didn't say liberal...I said leftist. Two different things entirely, but you need a 3 digit IQ to understand why.

Okay, I'll bite. What is the difference between being a leftist and being a liberal? And give us an example of a leftist agenda that is against gay marriage?

Blame Reagan, he united them under the same banner as other conservatives so that he could get elected.
