Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal says NASA will rely on commercial rockets to get its astronauts to the International Space Station – something the agency has long contemplated – rather than developing a vehicle of its own for this purpose.
If so, what will NASA focus on instead? Monitoring climate change and working on unspecified technologies – perhaps including orbiting gas stations – to facilitate space travel in the more distant future, according to the Sentinel.
I would think that this would be embraced by the smaller government crowd.
Exactly, I am I the only person that finds it ironic that the people that are bitching about cuts to NASA are the same one's complaining about government spending?
I do have to admit I love watching our governor (Perry) cry like a baby when he hears NASA is going to lose funding. We Texans don't need federal money. It's evil! That is, unless it serves our interests.
In half the other threads on here, people are foaming at the mouth over the need for spending cuts. Well, here's one! If we're at risk of unsustainable debt right now and basic assistance to Americans is about to be slashed...should we not sto trying to put people on the moon right now? What happened to all the deficit hawks on here?
