The problem in this thread is that they also banned civil unions with the same law. I can easily see why some are chapped at that.

So, why DID 33 Republicans and 5 Democrats in one of the houses of the Indiana state legislature, vote to oppose civil unions for same-sex couples?
Yes, pardon me it is about civil unions, I apologize.

I am sorry that she had to insert that EVIDENCE into the argument, but am also very glad she did.
I just noticed that there are 33 Republicans and 17 Democrats in the Indana state Senate. The vote for the amendment was 38-10. So at least five Democrats (that's nearly 1/3 of them) had to vote for it.

BTW, she's a he. Not that it matters in a debate. Even this debate.

Move to a state that thinks your way.....Problems solved.

People need to start reading the Constitution!
Maybe you're not emotionally attached to your family, but many Americans are, and I don't think they should have to move to another state in order to enter into a legal union with their life partner.

Democracy sure gets in the way of your agenda, doesn't it?

My sympathies.

Actually, about half do, according to Pew Research:

I looked at the exact numbers for conservative Republicans and moderate/liberal Republicans. As a whole, about 48% of Republicans oppose civil unions.

It's not an agenda. I'm just giving my opinion like everyone else here.

And please stop your personal comments and attacks.

The Constitution doesn't need to be changed. I don't even see how this particular discussion is associated with the Constitution. We're talking about the state laws of Indiana.

Meaning, 52% don't.

Thanks for proving my point.
