Looks like wedjat is trying desperately to change the subject from "civil unions" to "gay marriage", and pretend that was the only thing being discussed.
Back to the subject:
So, why DID 33 Republicans and 5 Democrats in one of the houses of the Indiana state legislature, vote to oppose civil unions for same-sex couples?
Yes, pardon me it is about civil unions, I apologize.
Little-Acorn said that 33 Republicans and 5 Democrats voted for that law. That indicates to me that maybe some people like those 5 who are not Republicans voted for it and you sounded like nothing but Republicans voted like that.
I am sorry that she had to insert that EVIDENCE into the argument, but am also very glad she did.
I just noticed that there are 33 Republicans and 17 Democrats in the Indana state Senate. The vote for the amendment was 38-10. So at least five Democrats (that's nearly 1/3 of them) had to vote for it.
BTW, she's a he. Not that it matters in a debate. Even this debate.
This country is made up of 50 states......no?.....
So if 1 state bans gay marriage and another ok's it.....Whats the problem?
Move to a state that thinks your way.....Problems solved.
People need to start reading the Constitution!
Maybe you're not emotionally attached to your family, but many Americans are, and I don't think they should have to move to another state in order to enter into a legal union with their life partner.

Then change the Constitution.......I just dont get it.....People talk about the Constitution when its good for them but then want to disregard it when its not.

The Constitution doesn't need to be changed. I don't even see how this particular discussion is associated with the Constitution. We're talking about the state laws of Indiana.
As a whole, about 48% of Republicans oppose civil unions.
Meaning, 52% don't.
Thanks for proving my point.
