Think Progress » Obama calls out GOP hypocrisy for going to ‘ribbon cuttings for the same projects that you voted against.’

Republican representatives attend ribbon cutting projects for projects funded by the Stimulus which they voted against.
Evey single Republican in the House voted against the stimulus, BTW.

There's an old saying, IIRC: Defeat is an orphan, success has a thousand fathers.

I think him doing this was petty as heck.

He isnt going to bring anyone together making comment like this and that is his job to bring people together. Remember what he said on election night that hes going to work to gain the did he say respect or just vote of those that didnt vote for him.

Well he isnt doing a very good job at that. Pointing that out was childish and petty and going to do nothing but further divide and keep the battle of left vs right going. He could have just not pointed that out and pointed out the purpose of the stimulus and why he felt it was a good thing to do.

He needs to remember what his job is to lead and that sometimes mean sucking it up and taking the lumps and holding things in for the purpose of bringing the unit together.

Him finger pointing and doing a nanner nanner boo isnt going to unite this country. I dont remember a time we've been more divided.

Awwwwwwww now, i do recall, while he was campaigning, all the talk about him bringing by-partisan to his presidency, i yet to see it, how bout you. Most all of the finger pointing, has been about other people taking blame, he takes very little. You should not make promises, you know you will never keep.

He is the least bipartisan president in my lifetime. He cannot accept criticism on any front and often takes every opportunity afforded him to attack anyone who dissents.

It's a great way to look like you are fighting to your constituents, but you gain all the benefits when you loose.

Win win for them.

What's really childish and petty are these Republicans who all voted down the stimulus bill and then attended ribbon-cutting ceremonies declaring the money provided to be "imperative" and "critical". That's disgusting. Why should he let these people continue to be so insincere with their constituents? He's standing up for the American people who deserve better than that. Instead of condemning the deplorable behavior, you blame Obama for pointing it out. Nice.
