The (most recently) former President of the Va ACLU (and former Little League coach) was charged in a child porn case recently. The Judge was horrified at the computer images used and viewed which had "sexual torture of children" video set to music by Nine Inch Nails.......

Now, if this were a Catholic Priest, every news station and print media around the country would run it as a headline (and maybe appropriately so), but, I can't help but wonder since this crime was comitted by a liberal, maybe the story was a little buried, where it was when I recently saw it.

The Catholic priest story is national.

A Virginia little league coach story is local.

A doctor in my old hometown was recently convicted (not just charged) of such charges....it didn't go national either.

I dont' see were this is a pattern of behavior either, as the recently RCC troubles were.

So what was your point?

What does this have to do with religion? Wouldn't your post be better suited to the politics forum?

Why would a local priest be national news?

The guy was the former Virginia ACLU President....the little league coaching was on the side.

Sorry....I just can't seem to quote w/ the blue color consistantly.

It wasn't a local priest but many priests all around the country.

Still local.

If we see a pattern of ACLU officers convicted of child porn, then you will have a point.

The fact that this guy was a leader in the state with a prominent organization is newsworthy, in my book.....I actually saw it buried in a "around the country" section of The Washington Times.

Yup... not to mention, a priest should be held to a higher & different standard. Big difference between someone who runs a non-profit agency, and a man who claims to serve God (and remain celibate).

Yes, it is newsworthy, which is why you read it in a newspaper.

The Washington Times is not a liberal paper, so your argument that the "liberal news media" is suppressing the story doesn't hold water.

If they're both guilty of the same crime, then I say lock them up....and throw away the key...no matter who they are!
