and I agree with you. We had 2 preemies many years ago, 1 year apart to the day. One lived 2 days, one about a day. Both probably would have had CP. Today, both would have survived..As hard as this was on us, we have always thought God did what should have been done and taken them from us. If we had been given the choice of keeping them alive or not, we would have chosen to let them go, certainly not immediately but at some point. I still would not have wanted someone else to be able to make that choice.

I am sorry for your loss. Preemies still die today. My DD's friend just recently lost one. It is good if some can be saved to have productive lives.

yep, you are right, that is why I don't want to see something like this happen here in the United States.
You're missing the point. It already happens in the United States. This is not a phenomenon reserved for countries with UHC.

I do not believe in keeping anyone alive by using life support only (or certainly not after a certain period of time) but I do not think a hospital, a panel or a government has the right to decide this.
You're too late, then. Texas hospitals can (and do) stop life support against the family's wishes.

That's what I was gonna say. Here the insurance company cuts you off and lets you die. And it happens every single day. How often does it happen there? Rarely, if at all.
