He is asking the Secretary of State in MASSACHUSETTS to certify the election results. The Senate can't seat him until those results have been certified.
How can you accuse anybody of delaying when he was scheduled to be sworn in Feb. 11 all along, wouldn't Brown be trying to push his weight around a bit prematurely?
Yeah thats when in the past when it was a democrat they got seated in 2 days after the election.
Just as they voted for the $1.9 Trillion increase in debt ceiling, the dems are trying to get as many votes in as possible.
If they continue to delay, there will be a huge backlash for this.
Whats wrong with you? No one was stopping anything, if you'd researched before posting you will find that it was already stated (before your false and misleading thread) that the Governor will certify Brown Thursday morning.
A spokeswoman for Patrick said the governor will certify the result at 9:30 a.m. ET Thursday. "As the Lieutenant Governor stated earlier today, the Governor will convene the Governor’s Council at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning and certify the results," said Deputy Press Secretary Kimberly Haberlin. "This will ensure that Senator-elect Brown’s request to receive the final paperwork by 11:00 a.m. tomorrow is fulfilled."

Did you all read the article?
Please... You know the answer to that question already...
Seriously, what is the hold-up? The election was not contested, therefore it can only be viewed as partisanship at this late stage of the game.
As has been stated, the results will be certified tomorrow morning. This news came out prior to the post, but the op made that silly post anyway. On top of that the reason it took the time it did, is even when the absentee ballots will have no impact on the election, the results can not be officially certified until all the absentee ballots are counted. That just finished and the results will be officially certified tomorrow.

I've stated this before and I will state it again, its pathetic and telling how the same posters continue to chime in with agreement on the OP ingnorant, baseless and lying posts without using their god given common sense and research before chiming in. Pathetic.
I agree that it is all well and good that he will be certified on thursday......

when franken was certified on a friday, he was sworn in on the following monday.....is congresss on vacation until next thursday?????
According to the news report, that was his original plan.
