And is there something wrong with that ? Why not move up as you earn more ? Isn't that the American Dream ?

Why do so many want to knock down what others have achieved ?
And I would suggest that not all of those making good money are spending it; what about retirement savings since pensions are gone and SS is in the crapper ? Some people don't want to be dependent on a nanny government in their retirement years so they save all they can.

.
No, the American dream is not to spend most of your salary on a mortgage and car payment and live above your means. Try building wealth for a change.

We're not talking about people living beyond their means..this thread is about taxing the so called "rich". If they are rich then why not spend and move up in life.

I think that the "rich" are the Oprah's of the world. The "wealthy" are the Hedge fund managers and CEO's of fortune 500 companies like Bill Gates and Warran Buffet, the rich have millions, the wealthy have 100's of millions of dollars.

Under Bush the wealthy and rich got huge tax breaks, which has hurt our tax revenue system by putting the burden of supporting the country and two wars on the middle and upper classes. IF YOU HAD ANY IDEA HOW THE TAX CODE IS WRITTEN FOR OIL COMPANIES IT WOULD MAKE YOU SICK! THEY NEED TO START PAYING THEIR SHARE!!Lets face it, if you are making 250K a year you are not hurting.......paying a little more in taxes will not keep you from loosing your home or car, but I would not consider this rich. The tax burden has been leveled on middle class people too heavily for the past 8 years and it is time for the rich, wealthy to pay up and help out! That is not socialism but civic responsibility, it is in the best interest of all of us that the needs of our citizens be met.

I cry Bullsh*t. Amazing Bullsh*t.

It is socialistic to tax the "rich" to help the poor, meeting the needs of all at the expense of some...... Equality of Condition. Retribution. What have you..This is not what America is all about. Equality for all in the constitution doesn't mean economic equality. Work your butt off, you might have a chance. That's more than 99% of the WORLD'S governements promise.

Then what does equality in the constitution mean? If there aren't some measures to balance out economic inequality, we should just burn the constitution and have a monarchy.

Tax all equally only skews things in favor of those who have excess. Equal treatment for inequality, thats your solution?

You honestly think The Constitution promises EQUALITY ECONOMICALLY to all??????

Oh jeez. We have a serious problem America.

The Constitution protects the rights of it's citizens so it has a CHANCE of economic equality. From hard work and LUCK you can achieve. You don't get by holding out your hand.that's more than any other country on this planet promises.
