There is a special little place roped off for Paul Shirley in hell.

ESPN has cut ties with this loser former NBA player/part time contributor over this disgusting display of low morals in a racist blog rant against the people of Haiti and a belittling open letter to its suffering people.

Dear Haitians –
First of all, kudos on developing the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Your commitment to human rights, infrastructure, and birth control should be applauded.
As we prepare to assist you in this difficult time, a polite request: If it’s possible, could you not re-build your island home in the image of its predecessor? Could you not resort to the creation of flimsy shanty- and shack-towns? And could some of you maybe use a condom once in a while?
Sincerely,
The Rest of the World

Wow....bad move...wrong move. I understand what he was trying to do, but the timing was wrong as well as the tone

Where is the racism? I do not agree with his timing at all, but I also understand what he is trying to say.

Certainly not well said. I didn't see any mention of race though.

Where is the racism? Or are those just your words?

Umm.......... I don't see any mention of race. If you'd be ever-so-kind, please point out what makes this racist.

Or is it because this is a light-skinned person talking down upon a group of dark-skinned people? OH THE HUMANITY!!

I agree that it was bad timing, but like it or not, what he wrote was the truth. A little harsh yes but still the truth.

And I'm not seeing the racism either.

Why do people cry racism at EVERY single thing involving black people. You practically can't say "black people" without someone accusing you of racism.

Say one bad thing about the president...racism

Make a partially true comment (although uneccessary at this exact moment) towards a nation that is predominantly black...racism

If he would have called all Haitans bald-headed hos (or was it nappy headed hos?) that would be one thing, but you are simply knit-picking. The only reason his statement is inappropriate is because of the timing, not the content.
