As long a liberal organization is doing it...no big deal.

If it was no big deal, why is the sign gone?

Because it was Tuesdays special. They were not offering it all month.

We don't think of Blacks or West Indians or African Americans and fried chicken. That is not part of our psyche or culture.

and Americans have been known to be "racially insensitive" in the past

this was not viewed as racist in Australia until it was viewed online by an American, who took it out of context.
The ad was one white dude surrounded by a lot of loud boisterous black fans, and he asks how to get them to be quite so he can watch the game and then proceeds to pass out a bucket of chicken, and then they are silent; implying that blacks can only "settle down" when chicken is passed around. Extremely racist and stereotypical.

That being said, there was nothing wrong with the NBC menu, created by a black woman, by the way. What do you want them to serve for black history month, herring and boiled potatoes?

oh It WASN'T!

There was a series of ads, that was one.

Another was, where the best place at the ground to watch the cricket. So the "white guy" dresses as a security guard, jumps the fence. He is then approached by a real security guard who tries to move him on. The "white guy" then offers him KFC. They share their fried chicken & watch the game.

Is this implying that all security guards are corruptable??

Please remember, it's an ad for KFC, which guess what, is FRIED CHICKEN with the WEST INDIES touring Australia ...
