To the OP:

How many Americans are dead? 4k+
How many critically wounded? 30k+
How many innocent Iraqis? 100k
How much money? COSTOFWAR.COM - The Cost of War

How many families have been affected by this?

Yet you propose more folly.
You're welcome to enlist any time you like.
No one's going to stop you.

Three US special forces soldiers were killed in northwest Pakistan this week, confirming that the US military is more deeply engaged on the ground in Pakistan than previously acknowledged by the White House and Pentagon (see " The Secret US War in Pakistan," November 23, 2009). The soldiers died Wednesday in Lower Dir when their convoy was hit by a car bomber in what appeared to be a targeted strike against the Americans. According to CENTCOM, the US soldiers were in the country on a mission to train the Pakistani Frontier Corps, a federal paramilitary force run by Pakistan's Interior Ministry that patrols the country's volatile border with Afghanistan. A Pakistani journalist who witnessed the attack said that some of the US soldiers were dressed in civilian clothes and had been identified by their Pakistani handlers as journalists. The New York Times estimates that there are sixty to a hundred such US special forces "trainers" in Pakistan. Capt. Jack Hanzlik, a spokesman for the United States Central Command said there are about 200 US military personnel in Pakistan.

Assuming that is correct, it would appear somebody is attacking America's enemies.

another bizarre story out of the white house
White House: Iran Doesn’t Have Ability to Enrich Uranium to 20 Percent -- News from Antiwar.com

we are imposing sanctions on iran because we don't want them to enrich uranium, causing a hardship on iranian people, yet they come out and say that they can't do it anyway......

which is it? if you have a leader without a plan you might as well bring our troops home, where they can protect us for a change.

Evolving US strategy: after 9 years, we better have more than an evolving strategy. Basically, our generals don't know what the hell we are doing.

Widens assault? After bombing their villages, wedding parties, mud huts and goat herders--what else is there to assault?

Terrorists? Most of these people live there. Terrorist has become a label we apply to anyone who resists our peculiar idea of governance, despite the outrages the citizens receive from their own US backed government.
