Pretty much started when people not only shouted lies as rallying points against it, but believed it. Health reform is needed, or else the very people who see themselves as the bastion of America will be unable to afford it. The same people can't complain about costs if they refuse to change it.
All a bunch of worthless, ex ambulance chasing, soon to be chasing them again, lawyers, playing like they are so smart in a building in DC that resembles a big tit. We need a third party, this two party Hootananny has come to a head.

Weaving together several different reports, mostly out Tuesday evening, the emerging path forward looks like this:
1) House passes a package of changes to the Senate’s health care bill (H.R. 3590) using a budget reconciliation bill. The AP is reporting that Rep. Charles Rangel [D, NY] has already started writing the reconciliation bill for this purpose.
2) Senate passes the same package of changes to its health care bill that the House passed (budget reconciliation can’t be filibustered and only requires 50 votes to pass, plus VP Biden casting the tie-breaking vote). At this point, Congress is done with the reconciliation bill, but it is not signed into law yet. Bills have a maximum 10 day waiting period between being finished by Congress and either becoming law or being vetoed.
3) Within 10 days, the House votes to pass the Senate’s health care bill.
4) The President signs the Senate health care bill into law.
5) Finally, the President signs into law the budget reconciliation bill containing the changes to the Senate health care bill.
I don't understand why they don't just do it in little bits at a time. Pass separate bills that do separate things, like one for eliminating insurance denial for pre-existing conditions, one for extending medicare and/or medicaid to more people (or similar option), etc.
If it doesn't pass, the Democrats are pretty much done for in the midterms. At least they could motivate Democrat voters to get out and vote if they passed health care, DADT repeal, jobs bill, and wall street revenge. Democrats won't care if they don't do so.

That would be great. I hope they have the strength of character to do it.
While we wait for all our ducks to be in a row, or to trust our gov't or to come up with the perfect plan more people will, die because of no insurance, will be sick with no care, will go bankrupt, will lose their insurance, will have their rates go up and small businesses stop offering insurances and not be able to compete in the market place. We need reform now (why are other countries so much smarter then us that they could come up with a plan or care enough about their citizens but not us the great ones). The republicans will blame the democrats the democrats will blame the republicans so that when they lay their head on their pillow they will tell themselves it is not their fault when more people l die, more will go bankrupt more will lose their insurance, the rates will keep going up small businesses will suffer.
There is no perfect plan there is no perfect time but you are talking about people life or death for some. I say life wins everytime. Until you watch a loved one or are the one who has to deal with a serious illness with no insurance or even just dealing with the insurance industry when they don't want to pay it is hard for you to understand and you are willing to wait for the perfect plan. I hope no one gets sick you know before then or you are fortunate enough to have one of those wonderful health care plans your employer pays for.
