We should be pulling out of Iraq and moving out of some of our bases, I can agree with that. I'm sure there is plenty of domestic fluff that can be cut as well.

I take it that you don't know just what happened in China in the early 50s after the Communists ran the Nationalists out to Taiwan. I am sure that you don't see or believe that Mao caused the worst inflation China had ever seen. While he was still around he got rid of millions of people and then because he was a dictator took care of their so heavy inflation in a manner than our President can't do. I guess if, by hook or crook (no pun intended) he should become our dictator as he would like to do he could just take all the property in the country, take all our money and end this situation.

You are as far out in the clouds as Randi Rhodes is in that you can't see the horrendous inflation that is coming our way from the Treasury printing and printing more unbacked money.

I remember a cartoon that really got me back in about 1953. A Chinese peasant had a wheelbarrow filled with their worthless currency and said that he was on the way to the store to buy a loaf of bread. Have you noticed the prices of many, if not all, foodstuffs in the food stores lately? All those raises sure aren't going into the pockets of the producers.

Why would you close all overseas military bases?

Domestic fluff, you say? How about the fact that Obama announced that we would soon have a federal payroll of over 2.1 million people. When a government gets that many employees there is bound to be a lot of pure waste. How about the SEC office where they found people watching porn on company computers all day every day? The real problem is that it is nearly impossible to fire any federal employees, whether they deserve it or not.

Maybe you are talking to one of those far left thinkers who want so badly to weaken our military to the point that they can't be a threat to the far left taking over our nation. Very possible.

Sure, why not? If you want to get serious about deficit reduction, then close all our military bases.

The price of packaged foods has gone up while they have significantly decreased the weight content of the package. All the while our fuel prices have remained relatively low compared to the spike that originally pushed up food priced two years ago.

An interruption in refining capacity or oil flow that sends fuel prices back up for farm diesel....and expect food prices to double or higher.

I truely hope people plan to plant a home "Victory Garden" this Spring.

The first order of business is to cut the entitlement programs. The second is to stop wasting our resources on ****hole countries halfway across the world. The third is to reduce spending in every other branch of the government (including the military). The fourth is to raise taxes so that we start running massive surpluses. Use those surpluses to pay down our debt. It will be painful, but it needs to be done. The longer we wait the more painful it will be.

Obama has taken money out of the private sector to spend on a long wish list of liberal government programs. Take the Failed Stimulus as an example; A stimulus is SUPPOSED to stimulate, immediately. The democrats structured their stimulus so that the bulk of the money is not spent until after this year - that is NOT a stimulus. The proof is in the pudding and the results of stimulus spending has not produced the growth they promised.

The private sector is the engine for job growth, not the government, even though obama has increased federal employment to record levels. That will not create the kind of job growth that is needed to turn the economy around.
