My job? I started working at McDonalds, and worked myself up. Last I checked McDonalds has blacks working for them..
Getting into a lease? I've never signed a lease as a tenant, but I've rented to hundreds of minorities over the years when I used to rent out apartments...
Given a nice tip, cant relate, never worked on tips..
Hurt being white? I live in an area surrounded by minorities. Luckily I work from home and am self employed because there isnt a chance in hell I could go to work and find a job up the road in the areas where 95%+ are black..
I can't tell YOU how many times I've been in "rich" white areas and received hostile stares from whites, as if to let me know I don't belong there.
Wow.. you think hostile stares are worse than being attacked and put into the hospital. No wonder you are complaining..

For 12% of the population I'd say African-Americans are pretty influential (and btw Virginia was the first state to elect a black governor)
I think you're just grasping now. In reality, the two wouldn't even have the same opportunities to begin with.
Turn the situation around: say the two were on Rodeo drive, the black kid in a suit and the white kid in sweats. The white kid would get the suspicious stares because he's dressed like a "grub".
BTW, in nearby Detroit, whites get targeted and pulled over in certain parts of the city all of the time, yet no one is crying racism over that.
LOL again, why are whites hanging out in the Ghetto of Detroit if not for buying drugs which is pretty normal. I wasn't aware of the long history of police brutality and murder in the white community.

The fact of the matter is that, before 1965, blacks were largely the victims of discrimination, both institutionalized, and blatant, at the hands of whites.
A few examples of successful blacks doesn't negate this reality.

Oprah has been harassed for being Black. Nobody cares how rich she is. I guess you missed out when she was not let into the store in Paris. All those you named acknowledge and know about white privilege and racism. Money does not magically take away racism.

I was born in 1989 so I had no part of that. You said you are 24 so you were born in the 80s too. It is time to move forward my friend.
