If our leaders are mediocre, our country will be. If our leaders have no experience running anything, how can they run a country?

Many successful people had hard times making ends meet, but they figured it out. Wouldn't you want someone that's figured it out leading the country?
Funny that you mention this b/c our buddy Bush ran numerous companies (to the ground) and the majority of the politicians who have over 1/2 in assests and/or income inherited from someone else. The truth be known if some of them were not in politics they would not have a job!

Oh yeah one word......Ross Perot! It seems to me that self made millionaires (the ones who started from the begining) have a hard time dealing with the stupidity of politicians and therefore nothing would ever get done. This, like Obama is witnessing is due to the loyality to their parties instead of to the country

Well, seems you and the Democratic party have something in common.
If indeed that you were refering to me, I do not consider myself to be of either party since I have very little respect for either. I feel that there is no ONE way to fix the economy, but I do know that it will never get "fixed" b/c of the pussheaded politicians who are more loyal to the concept of party affilation than to the well being of America. Only through the co operation of both parties this country can pull itself out of this mess. The repugs don't want to give credit to the dumbocrats and the dumdassocrats can't stick together for anything. If the dumdazz people would quit listening to the divisive tactics of certain individuals and force the politicians to work together our grandkids would not have to pay this extremely high debt!

When you're rich, why would you care about the poor?
You have all the money you need so honestly, why worry about someone else?

I do somewhat agree with the premise without the rich the poor would be in some dire straits. At the same time, why are we so afraid of progressive taxation?

The government isn't looking out for us right now. The Democrats are just better at wrapping their garbage ideas up in a "warm fuzzy" bill that makes people THINK they give a damn, but in reality those bills will bankrupt us and not do as they promise.

Think for yourself and get off this "D" vs. "R" garbage.
Apparently you haven't seen my posts where I identify as a Democratic Socialist.

I know Democrats AND Republicans are corporate whor*s and could care less about their constituents.
There are a couple of Democrats in Congress I respect but there aren't enough of them that I consider worthy of their jobs in Congress.

How sad you've been brainwashed into thinking health insurance equals health care. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Under a single-payer system, the government is not in control of health care. Read a bit more and you'll know more than right-wing talking points.

I suggest: Amazon.com: The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care (9781594202346): T. R. Reid: Books to start out with. Right-wing, left wing or in the middle...this is a book everyone needs to read.

I've seen many of your posts throughout the year, and you're correct in one sense...you're a socialist.

I'm not sure how you can look at history and see that your views and the way you think things should be run have NEVER worked, nor can they. You CONSTANTLY rail against republicans (and many deserve it) but it seems that you really don't know the dangers that your views hold, and the complete ruin that they'll cause this country.

You want free handouts to everyone. You want free healthcare for everyone. Free free free. Take care of EVERYONE.

That's dangerous and that's what led to communism and Nazism. When you make the people dependent on government, you can do WHATEVER you want. It's a slippery slope.

Funny, but you know a lot of us on the coasts & in major metropolitan areas make bank and more often than not, vote for Democrats. There are many stats on this, yet conservative media continues to ignore the fact that the Democrat Party is not only for the poor.

That's why the GOP places so much emphasis on "family values" woven in with fear.

I support the republicans sometimes, but shall never support either party that is for limiting individual freedoms, including all of the 1st 10 Amendment of the Bill of Rights.
