The Tea Party is about the Constitution, witless participants in government such as any Congress of the past forty years and braindead responders as earlier posted on that poll.

The Tea Party is about the Constitution, witless participants in government such as any Congress of the past forty years and despondent responders as earlier posted on this poll.

AND THE CONSTITUTION, the principle reason for any election.

What they are is a bunch of sore losers who can't wait for the return of republican power. Just watch, when it finally happens all will be right in their little worlds and they will just fade away.

-In case you didn't read this under "Black Helicopters" Most "tea-guys" are people you'll never see on tv or hear about on the internet sites. To be frank, many tea partiers are disgruntled repuplicans, but in truth most of us are just people that want an alternative in government. Is it really such a bad thing to oppose two poor choices? The dems want massive social programs, overregulation of business, unreasonable and non-competative environmental restraints, and massive government. They also seem to be heading towards wealth redistribution and even socialism in some cases. The repubs on the other hand are clueless when it comes to spending the taxpayers' money, aren't known for being an all inclusive party, push their religious and moral views too hard on the American people, and they seem to be unwilling to work with others. If you were to ask most voters, they tend to elect the lesser of two evils, not to vote for a person or party they like. Both parties greatly fear the rise of a legitimate 3rd party, and would both profit to see it fail. Nut jobs reside in EVERY pollitical party, but you see more of them in news reports showcasing the tea party because the media and big government WANT THEM TO FAIL. This is still a new party in its formative stages, and badly in need of leadership. I for one support the creation and rise of a new party that takes the best ideas of both the dems and repubs, along with those of the U.S. population, to help reunite the people of the USA and also restrain the power of the government under its current two party system.

That's all fine and dandy but exactly where were all of you Tea Party folk when GWB was lying and smokin' em' out and invading and bilking and deregulating and bailing out and "destroying our children's future with the 1st GWB stimulus payments and pushing the nation to the brink?

The rest of us clearly see the hypocrisy, why don't you?

Also, could any Tea Party person explain the reason that the "movement" started only after the election of Obama and not before? The gov't financial bailout started during the administration of GWB....McCain (ergo so did Palin) even suspended his 2008 campaign to "work on" the federal bailout, he didn't say to stop it but to work on it.

Why weren't the Tea Party folks out protesting in front of the White House in 2008 when the Bush stimulus package was approved by Congress? Why weren't the Tea Party people protesting Bush when that stimulus plan failed?

The agenda of the Tea Party movement is obvious and it smells to high heaven to the average American.

Really, these folks are primed by the talking points delivered by their radio and TV "friends" to think what they're told to think and be in place when they're needed. calipoppy you're presuming that any of them thinks for himself -- none of this could work if that were the case.

I'm sorry for not explaining myself better my blinded leftist friend... For years folks like me with simmilar beliefs were sitting at bars, dinner tables, etc talking about what an incredible waste of money and manpower there was coming out of Washington DC when the decision was made to invade Iraq for no reason. People just like me were loudly opposing GWB's stupid stimulus plan in 2008. Once again, it was regular joes like yours truely that couldn't stand the unpatriotic "Patriot Act" that was so well liked by the repubs. It's funny how folks like YOU, that like to be judgemental and blind to all of the facts are so willing to hate something you know almost nothing about, other than what MSNBC, CNN, FOX, or some other media outlet tell you. Stick to the Dems if you like, but at least learn a little about what you chose to hate before you point fingers. The sentiment that stirred this movement came well before 2008.
