Confident Conservatives Expect Gains In November As They Court Tea Party - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ibd/20100219/bs_ibd_ibd/521585 - broken link)

And they treat him like a returning hero? Absolutely disgusting. This is a man who was a part of an administration which almost doubled the size of the federal debt, increased the size of the federal government, and increased socialism (specifically with the Medicare presciption drug plan) and he is greeted with an ovation from a group concerned about such things? This man and his neo-con ilk destroyed the Republican Party and led it astray from the core tenets that used to define it all the while strengthening our progressive and liberal enemies. Are these people that ****ing stupid?

As a fiscal conservative I had a soft spot in my heart for this Tea Party movement...but no more. They are nothing but another group that will be a minor footnote in political history and that has no idea what the hell is going on.

Well, I was referring more to this whole incident with Cheney. I don't think my hatred of the Republicans or the Democrats has much to do with the original intent of the thread. But, they are both equally odious.

Is it any wonder that the tea party looks identical to the {R} party who hijacked the movement.A bunch of hypocrites, how can the tea party that is for less gvt and lower spending cheer Cheney. It was Cheney who said"deficits do not matter Reagan proved that"What a bunch imbeciles to give Cheney a standing ovation.
The tea party and the [R]S are a match made in heaven,I would never go to a tea party and hang out with a bunch of neo cons.

Did you see that other stalwart Neo-Con, Mitt Romney, when he spoke to CPAC yesterday?

First, he started out blaming Obama for a lot of things, mostly for not doing....well, what George Bush did.

Then, he promised that when he gets to the White House he'll do....well, just what George Bush did.

The response from the crowd, which this year includes a lot of Tea Party activist's, was polite but not overly enthusiastic.

There is a fight going on for the soul of the Republican Party between the Neo-Con crowd of old-line global corporatist's and the new, more really conservative Tea Party fans. It's divided CPAC right down the middle and, so long as the Tea Partiers don't succumb to the sweet words of charlatan's like Romney, Palin and Cheney, they may actually take control of what used to be the conservative Republican Party and put it back on track.

It probably won't happen before the next election, but if that election really does result in the tossing out of dozens of incumbents, and IF that is seen as a response to the swelling public outrage over where the Congress has taken us over the past few decades, it will be a shot in the arm to the anti-globalist Tea Parties and might very well result in the Bush, Cheney, Delay wing of the party finally being shoved out of power.

We can only hope!

It is amazing all the people at the rally telling Obama teleprompter jokes by reading them off a teleprompter! I guess they don't realize how lame that is.

I do agree that the Tea Baggers will go the way of Joe the Plumber. They are all the "rage" now, but will soon be a trivia question.
