Here is the whole health care debate in a nutshell. Most of the people care about their health care and know when the government does anything they fail. Most of the people are very concerned why hussein obama and his criminal administration are concocting this health care scam behind locked doors with union thugs. Most of the people will not support something that is kept hidden from view. What is hussein obama hiding? Intelligent people smell the scam.

On the other hand we have the hussein obama sheep that throw everyone's health care to the wayside and are only concerned with passing hussein obama's agenda with next to no information about what they are supporting. That is the epitome of ignorance and blind obedience. Well libs, what are you supporting since most of this health care bill is still hidden from view?

Not likely to happen.

Oh and the VAT may be more beneficial than you think, and not only in terms of social programs such as health care.

Just because President Obama (yes, his middle name is Hussein. We get it, you're deathly frightened of anything remotely Islamic) developed a crummy plan does not mean that the concept is flawed. Every other industrialized nation has a UHC system in place.
If America is so great, how come they can't take care of their sick and poor?

You're going to rely on 'Dirty Harry' to 'create' jobs?

The unemployment rate has more than doubled from 4.7% to 9.7% under 'Dirty Harry's' reign in the Senate for the past 3+ years.

Nobody with two brain cells is "against healthcare reform". They may be against what has been presented so far but EVERYONE WHO LOOKS sees the problems with our current system. If they aren't looking then their opinion doesn't count.

I think just about everyone sees problems with our health care. That does not mean clear thinking people will support something that is so bad for America that is must be kept hidden from view.

If hussein obama and his criminal administration, along with his union thugs have a great health care bill, why not bring it out in the open for all to review?

Instead of the hussein obama sheep blindly and ignorantly supporting an agenda they know little about, why are they not demanding this health care bill is brought out in the light of day? If it is so great we will all jump on board to support it.

Time to tear it all down and rebuild, because this thing is rotten to the core and there's nothing to salvage.
I understand the argument, and certainly don't disagree with the assessment of the current system. But I don't think the sledgehammer approach is either politically of practically expedient or feasible. Some said we should junk the stimulus bill rather than lop off near $100 billion just to come up with three Republican votes. In my view, the need for those three Republican votes meant that $787 billion was the best you could get, and while well short of being ideal, the best you can get is almost always better than nothing.

In my view similarly, either of the current health care bills would be a perfectly fine option. There basically isn't any controversy over 95% of what's in them, so let's get a package passed and signed here. People muse that the idea is somehow dead, but there are various means and timelines for moving forward under discussion, including going back under reconciliation, sending the bills back through committee, enduring the onslaughts of garbage delaying tactics, and ultimately getting a bill through the Senate in September with exactly 50 votes. No Lieberman needed, nor Ben Nelson nor Blanche Lincoln nor a handful of others whose electoral prospects might look better with a No-vote to campaign on. I doubt any decison on what way to go has actually been made yet, but there isn't so much sentiment for giving it all up just because Coakley bombed in the final debate and lost a big lead as the result.

It would also be nice if Obama knew what is in Obama care.
I mean seriously knew what he is saying when it comes the current bills.
He said "I guarantee you will be able to keep your own doctor, no one will lose their insurance" (Obama,2009,comments taken from lectures on his health care insurance take over tour).
Medicaid and medicare are government run health care programs and they are filled with fraud, waste, abuse. We can start with health care by making the government clean up theirs.
Taking $500,000,000 out of medicare improves medicare how?
Or was that proposal dealt out.
This is the logic of the 2 current bills that Obama wants everyone to start with. It isn't a starter but a stopper. Many of the ideas are already implemented by our own doctors and policy (living wills, electronic files).
The cost to change the current health care software to a federal system and know that it's all there in Washington (of course accessible only with your permission) is a laugh, a mess, a disaster.
Pragmatic steps, not Kumbaya politics.
