The Virgina House of Delegates on Wednesday approved a measure that could protect Virginia residents from overbearing employers, and possibly the apocalypse.

The law would make it illegal to implant an identification or tracking device into a person's body without their written consent.

I love this:
"My understanding -- I'm not a theologian -- but there's a prophecy in the Bible that says you'll have to receive a mark, or you can neither buy nor sell things in end times," Del. Mark L. Cole, the bill's sponsor, told the Post. "Some people think these computer chips might be that mark."
Making laws about microchip implantation based on what the Bible says - great.

No, but I don't believe it's a threat at all. And then for the author of that bill to justify it by quoting the Bible? If you're aware of any government in America that has plans to "mark" its citizens, please tell me. I'd like to know about it.

You may as well believe that there's giant monsters in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans that are planning to attack all of us. It's silly.

I was watching the Olympic opening ceremony, and I saw Bigfoot in Vancouver.

You are correct about "the mark' but it has to do with the Mark of The Beast ( aka Satan) .

If you worship the beast and receive the mark of the beast you will receive the complete wrath of God. The book of Revelation in the Bible gives us this strong warning:
“If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath.” Revelation 14:9,10
If you get the mark of the beast God’s complete wrath will be poured out on you.

Unfortunately, Terry McAuliffe bobbled the ball in the Democratic primaries last Spring, leaving a basically unelectable guy to run for Governor. As the result, you've got a supposedly reconstructed right-winger in the Governor's chair and a bunch of confused downstate reactionaries so encouraged by that that you can expect to see more than just a little silliness coming out of this state for a while. The era of reason and progress that Mark Warner and Tim Kaine brought to the Old Dominion is temporarily on hold...

I do agree with the law, but I do think it is pretty crazy to mention the anti-Christ in support of it.

you know my ex-brother in law who is a devout moron used to tell me about these prophecies along with the Rapture. I think Mr. Cole might be related to my ex brother in law.

and it's a tidy double play by the Virginia Lawmakers.
