The question was hypothetical. Further more so what if he did lie or make up a question to ask the person running to be president. He is allowed to do that. Like I said lets cancel all debates because they are based on what if and what would you do.

It isn't just that if he was able to do it or not that was a lie, it was the $$$ the company made was no where even in the same realm of what he said it was.

While all this is happening lets ignore the actual answer Obama gave. Lets make a huge issue over how the question was worded. I mean really this is pathetic in my opinion. We as citizens of this country have a right to ask the person running to be the leader of this country a question worded however we see fit and shouldnt be attacked for it because someone doesnt like how its worded.

So what if a person lies in a question asking a possible future president its about the question and the answer.

This isnt about a lie or not a lie about its about we can ask any question we see fit and should be able to do so without our personal records violated people attacking us. This is America we live in NOT Iran

No, it was not hypothetical. Hypothetical would have been "What if I were to buy a company that makes..." Plus, I personally didn't mind Obama's answer to him, and, like I said earlier, Joe didn't seem to mind the attention he was getting when he was getting it so I don't feel sorry for him now. McCain used this guy as an example of your "average joe" and everything that was based on was a lie. The whole Joe the Plumber thing was just stupid.

Its not the way the question was worded, its that the question was a BOLD FACED LIE.

I agree. When I think of the McCain campaign and the combination of characters up on the stage together - John McCain, Sarah Palin, Joe The Plumber, Meghan McCain, Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston, Cindy McCain, etc. - it feels like a freak show.

Would the question have been valid if the company didnt earn over 250K? He wanted to know if he bought a company that earned over 250k would be taxed more and you are making a huge issue over the choice of words he used to ask his question about taxes and the 250k mark.

I am sorry this is as petty as they come if you ask me. It was a hypothetical question.

What do you think happens in debates or town hall meetings? Hypothetical questions are asked about what he would do. Should we no longer hold them?

Personally I think this would not be an issue if Obamas answer was different. But because Obama gave an answer that isnt popular and used against him people are attacking the person that asked it to try and take attention off the answer.

Do you want to live in a country that we cant ask a person wanting to be the leader any question in any manner we see fit about a policy they plan to put in place that would affect our lives? I dont want to live in a country that we are attacked over how we phrase a question to the person wanting the top job in this country.

This guy was a Republican plant in a losing cause. He's about as relevant as the ashy feet of an elderly Nigerian school teacher.

So because you didnt mind the answer means many didnt?

Hey i dont feel bad for Joe either. My whole problem with this is him being attacked for asking a question. His records being searched and such.

A plumber isnt an avg Joe?

Really the republicans knew Obama was going to be in that neighborhood and planned the person to ask the question and knew Obama would give the answer he did.

Wow you would think being able to do and know all of that they would have ran a better campaign and been able to win

he presented himself as an average plumber who was planning to buy a business that made $250K when in fact, he wasn't even a licensed plumber, and he wasn't about to buy a business that made $250K. He went up on the stage and waved, and pretended to be this guy, when he really never was. McCain used him as an example of something he wasn't in the first place. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Things like this are why McCain lost the election. Joe and Sarah. I feel bad that his records were searched, but that wasn't McCain's fault or Obama's fault.
