Soros had bought millions of shares of Halliburton by the beginning of 2007, when the stock's price, under the constant political pounding, had been cut from a high of $40/share down to $26. Then the MoveOn.org, etc. political attacks largely stopped, and Halliburton began its rise to today's price of $50.
The Anglo-Dutch oligarchy's billionaire opponent of `Bush's War' and `Cheney's Halliburton,' Soros began making purchases of Halliburton stock in the third quarter of 2005. He accelerated his buying in the fourth quarter of 2006, when the stock was trading near its low ($26.33) of the last four years. His purchase prices were between $27.62 and $33.53, with an estimated average price of $31.3. As of 12/31/06, Soros owned 1,999,450 shares, more than 2% of his total portfolio, making Halliburton his hedge funds' biggest investment of 2006.
I got furious as I watched the segment on how US business people are using middle men to get around the embargo on selling technology to Iran and how Iran has used some of that technology to kill US soldiers in Iraq. Several roadside bombs have been found to have US chips and electronic componets in them. They actually had one of these "dealers" on TV and he says he just "sold the parts to Dubai".
The thing that makes me most furious is that these people are out of jail running around free. I guess that they got bail or something. Why are they out of jail? Especially since most of them are Arab foreign nationals and are a flight risk!
These people should be held in jail, tried and executed with a bullet to the head or a public square hanging the day they are found guilty in my view. If we get serious and execute these people, others will think twice about their treasonous acts for cash!
Hmm while I agree with you.. maybe you should ask why we are fighting in Iraq and or why we are still there. NO NATION BUILDING!!!!

Besides going or not going to war in the first place if your actually had good reason to be there kill your enemny and get out. Get out of all the other nations and close the 700 bases we created after WW2.

The traitorous "Profits before Patriotism" business elite in this nation have proven time and time again that they will elevate the excessive " Profit Margin" above even the safety and welfare of their very own nation and it's proud and brave soldiers ! Profit Margins Trump All Else !
It appears that there is truly no end in sight to the "Excessive Greed" mindset that exists within so much of Coorporate America !
Once again it is the "American People" whom must exercise the dynamic resolve to effectively correct this most destructive malediction that has thus far become simply a "matter of course" among so many of this nations "No Accountability" businesses !

How long will it be until the soldiers realize that they are just pawns? They are being used as cannon fodder in a game by big business. We send them over there and give them arms to kill the enemy and we sell the enemy arms to kill our soldiers. And the enemy pays for its weapons with money we gave them to buy oil with. Who is making the money here? Certainly not the soldiers. Lots of them only get a grave or a wheelchair.
The soldiers don't have a say in it, as a matter of fact, the only say they have is signing up or not.
We the people have the ultimate say, or at least we did.
Until we started allowing our fears of the Soviet Union, and now Islamic extremists to over run our good thinking. Its not the militarys fault, its our fault for letting corporations to buy defense spending contracts, and the votes of elected officials who decide if war is needed or not.
Remember this thread, the next time we have a terrorist attack on our soil. Is the life of 100 or 200 people, really worth the lives of tens of thousands of Americans, hundreds of thousands of innocent people who are killed by our military, and the trillions of dollars of debt we rack up "defending our homeland".
Terrorism is a police matter, and our police are trained quite well for their job. You can't stop someone from killing themselves, or from killing others at the same time, in a free society. Its something people have got to learn to live with.

This article is interesting. If, Terrorists destroyed 1 of Americans 40,000 shopping malls, PER WEEK Then your odds of dying in one of those attacks are about 1 in 1,000,000. To put that in perspective, the odds of dying in a plane crash, is about 1 in 400,000.
So IF terrorists had a weekly attack on American soil, your odds would still be better of dying in a plane crash.
So, I suggest we simply stop flying, since my odds of death in that are double that of a terrorist attack.
And thats only if they are attacking us once a week. Even if they pulled off a 9/11 attack once a week for a year, the odds only increase at 1 in 300,000.
Seriously, there are bigger fish to fry, than Islamic terrorists. And, as I said in my other post, thats only if they are encouraged by our actions to continue their terrorism. If you ignore them, they'll simply stop and go away.
Its like a protest, if no one cares, no one will protest. If no one cares about terrorism, then no one will do it.
