People felt the same way about Reagan in worse way and he was re-elected. People really place too much stock in polls. In another hour, someone will post a poll that favors Obama and all the Obama haters will say that it's meaningless.

HonuMan also wonders how zingzang can speak for "everyone with common sense," and who those people might be.

HonuMan is starting to feel pretentious referring to himself in the third person.

No matter how bad Obama is you must remember what the alternative was, McCain/Palin. The one thing that will definitely get Obama re-elected is Palin running for office.

We have absolutely no clue what Obama's numbers will be in 2012. It will go way up if the economy is good or way down is the economy is bad. Face it - most people won't analyze his policies and determine whether they helped end/shorten/lengthen the recession, they're just going to know whether or not their life is better in November 2010 than it was in January 2009. At least that's how independents will decide how to vote. The partisans will still vote for their party's candidate.

Also, a poll of Obama vs. any imaginary utopian candidate doesn't say much. The alternatives will also decide how people will vote. When Mr. Nonexistent Perfect has alternative policies to Obama, lots of experience and no skeleton's in the closet, it's a lot easier to say you wouldn't vote for Obama. Wait until people see any alternative is only human too, and the results will be a lot closer.

Did any thinking person expect we'd be out of the woods this soon? Had McCain been elected, he'd probably be getting equally low ratings, and we'd still have gridlock in Congress. Check back in two years...
horse poop
Obama has been so far exposed he will never come back
he and the far left wingers thought he could just blink and we would all fall down,
I did not vote for him, I proudly voted for Mccain
but is does not matter now. we are stuck with Obama
I think he is in for a worst awakening unless the repubs totally screw them selves in Nov

That darn stimulus is Obama's undoing.

Case in point: $787,000,000,000/2,000,000 jobs = $393,500 per job created/saved.

American's are an apathetic bunch, but we damn sure know a bad deal when we see one.

"Shovel-ready" was nothing but a ploy to convince you that there are a kazillion construction workers out of work. How many construction workers do you see on one roadside paving a road or building a bridge? Not that many. "Shovel-ready" by definition excludes planners, designers, engineers, etc. Oops. Sorry, no job for you. The biggest con of this decade was rhetorically promulgated one year ago today, which is right in line with King Rhetoric's modus operandi. He sold us a lemon and expects us to be repeat shoppers? Not a chance in hell.

And the firefighter/police/teachers "jobs saved" argument? It's worn out its welcome. I think i'll barf the next time a politician parades out this excuse.

Bottom line: Democrats f*cked themselves one year ago today. There will be revenge at the polls. Bet on it.

Actually that $787 Billion is now $862 Billion - remember the CBO revised the cost upward about a month ago.

Its even worse for congress now as only 34% say that seated senators and representatives deserve to be reelected. The lowest ever.
