Of people who support the grassroots, “Tea Party” movement, only 2 percent think taxes have been decreased, 46 percent say taxes are the same, and a whopping 44 percent say they believe taxes have gone up.

source: Newsvine - 95% Of Americans Got Tax Cuts; 12% Know It; Tea Partiers Least Informed - CBS Poll

A party that is based on the acronym for "Taxed Enough Already" is filled with people who haven't the slightest clue about the very issue they protest.

parfleche, the federal government doesn't control those state taxes you mentioned. And you may have simply failed to notice that you received an income tax cut because it wasn't a very big one.

nobodies taxes went down

what you see as a $13 dollar a week gain is not a lowering of taxes, but a credit that was added for the past year for up to $400 single/$800 married jointly

so the FACT is federal income taxes have not decreased

but the federal cigarette tax did INCREASE
the federal alcahol tax did INCREASE
the federal energy tax did INCREASE
the federal funding to states has been reduced, making states INCREASE their taxes, and fees

so the teaparty, saying we are being taxed to death....is correct

I couldn't find a video of it but one of my professors showed us a video of Penn and Teller asking teabaggers with Obama=Socialism signs and shirts to define what socialism is. Out of 154 people interviewed 17 gave a viable answer according to what is the recognized definition. Pissed off people are dangerous. Even moreso are ones who couldn't pass a middle school exit exam. And I might as well say it now before someone claims the inevitable, P & T made a documentary making fun of Amnesty International and enviornmentalists so they're not "far left whackos"

Oh FORGET IT. These slaves love being slaves. You won't convince them not to be Uncle Sam's lap dog.

Disgusting bunch ...

The same thing .... scary, dangerous ignorance .. could be applied to the majority ... as they prove in every election cycle by putting the same criminals in charge, after decades of lying and thieving.

At least they recognize there is a problem.

Which are you ... A Dumycrat or a Dumypublican?

Pot .. meet kettle

No surprise here. I recall the same group understood virtually nothing about the health care reform they were screaming about. Some of the interviews were truly sad. I remember one family protesting (they dragged this woman on all the 24/7 media outlets) who actually could have benefited from what they were yelling about.

I got news for you "real smart people". The massive increase in debt over the past decade (read: massive inflation of the currency) has dwarfed the tokens tossed from the Queen's Carriage.

You probably won't get that, because you're too darned smart.
