I am not out of touch with anyone. I associate with democrats and republicans but I none of them are extremist wing nuts. Therefore, I don't have any tea party friends.

How in the world can you assume that these few represent the majority of people who align themselves with Tea Party movement? That is absurd.
Please tell me you're joking. I have yet to find a "tea party" in my overwhelmingly red state that didn't advocate "returning to the Christian values this country was founded upon".

If there is a such thing as a normal tea bagger, why do they accept the crazy tea baggers? If I hate a legitimate thing going, I wouldn't want to allow some nuts to ruin it for me. There is no way people are attending all these rallies and not seeing the racist signs or noticing that some of the attendees have lost touch with reality. Some of these people are afraid of things that don't exist. Fear can make people do things they never thought they would do. It is dangerous to feed into this.
The Tea Party is made up of republicans, conservatives, democrats and Independents, who have had enough of out of control spending and massive debt and deficits as far as the eye can see. The democrats a bleeding Independents.
