I guess I've been operating all these years on the false premise that 1940 Britain was under heavy and deadly military threat from a Nazi regime intent on impressing their brand of facism on the UK.

Thanks for correcting me on my misunderstanding of the Battle of Britain and the intent of Operation Sealord.

No, my mistake. I assumed readers would have known I meant, "...electing a fascist government." I should have been clearer for those unable to fathom my meaning.
