Yes, I believe that many liberals take the wrong side on major issues important to our safety.
Many liberals takes Irans side and love Chavez.
And yes, I personally believe many, not all liberals hate America or they sure would not be wanting to do things to destroy our language, culture and constitution the way they want.
I truly believe anyone who follows Obamas socialist ideals and backs him up agrees with him and therefore they are trying to devastate this country by forcing socialism on us.

Some posters here hate libs b/c they're so fanatical about spelling and grammatical errors. Others (like you) hate libs because of this perception that they are out to destroy "our language" (libs out to destroy the English language? Really???) And how are libs, in your national view, out to destroy "culture"?
For all the lib bashers here, I probably fall into the spectrum that you would hasten to call liberal. But still, I lament the fact that people are so disturbed about the lib's and the con's that the use of the two terms is frequently as a slur on this forum, and elsewhere. It's inane. And when I say inane, I mean inane, not insane. Although it's debatable as to whether it's a bit nutty and insane too.
As to the OP, I would say that whatever "apologies" for Islam you may be paying attention to are coming from people who realize that a radical, ridiculous and supposedly Muslim murderous "jihadist" minority does NOT represent all of Islam followers. Nor do honor killings or whatever other ridiculous harmful things going on in the name of Islam. The mainstream Muslim voice is not heard in sensationalist American media as much. Tune into NPR and you'll hear a lot surrounding this but I'm guessing you'll boycott that b/c NPR is most certainly a voicebox for the dangerous and silly libs

desjacques, or however you spell his name, is one of the board liberals who regularly defends islamic terrorist here. Can't remember if it was the university at Berkeley or San Francisco, but at one of the two a group of conservatives staged a protest in which they walked on the flags of islamic terrorist organizations. The university put a stop to the protest and threatened them for defacing the flags. The university later backed down when they realized they were being hypocrites since they preach freedom of speech when students burn the American flag.

I don't know what "liberals" means, but I went to a good college, I'm rich, and I voted for Obama, so I guess I probably qualify as a leeeeebral elitist.
Speaking for myself, I despise Islam. The lesser-intellects(Kristol, Cheney, et al) often mistake Obama's approach to Islam in sum as soft; it's just smarter. The truth is, you can't bomb your way out of the problem of Anti-Westernism rooted in radical Islam. By giving speeches showing respect for Islamic Culture, we are lessening the fire; while Obama can do nothing to curb the true radicals, the true radicals in small numbers are irrelevant now that we have our eye on them. Islamic fundies only garner power and illicit serious fear in Westerners when the borderline-fundies are brought over the edge by incendiary comments made by the likes of Cheney, et al. that literally baits Muslims. "Dead or Alive." "They hate us ferrrr rrr freeedum." etc etc.
Again, it's simply the more intelligent approach to combating problems. It's always better to smile at your enemies and offer a hand-shake, even if the long-term play is to rip out their intestines.

Hey, I use socialist medicine, government funded socialized Medicine, and so do millions of other VETERANS it is called the VA, Every modern advanced country on earth is socialized, America is ranked as the 7th best nation on earth to live in, the top 6 are socialized, as are we, and the next 10 plus.
America is ranked 17th in the world for quality of healthcare, the nations that do better than us, are socialized.
I suggest that you get an education.
