Fir you second confused question, nothing. It was in response to someone else, not you. Maybe that is why you are having a hard time understanding it.
Right, you responded to a post that was noting the things taxes pay for with a thing that was completely unrelated.

Never mind, forget it.

Wrong.

But yeah, I do agree with that. ABOLISH the garbage IRS and instead we should raise sales tax in all the states. That way YOU can control how much you pay up to a point instead of some IRS monster raping you every time you get paid.

Darn! The Government chewed up my portfolio.

All's I got left is some Intellectual Property.

Want to buy a patent?

Could be the next big thing.

Default How many more Joseph Stacks are out there?

When I read Joseph Stack's suicide note, I was reminded of the story of Carl Drega (see link below). The guy decided one day that he had had enough and shot a few cops and a judge. What was the incident that finally set him off? He was pulled for having rust holes on his truck.

Just the other evening, I saw on the news that the chief of police of a small town in NC had briefly declared a state of emergency and enacted a curfew because of an ice storm that was passing through. During this "state of emergency" she was the recipient of hundreds (!) of death threats.

All this makes me wonder just how many of the people with whom we interact day to day are dangerously close to their flashpoint.
