Without having to take responsibility for policy or the actions that result from those policies, it is easy to have a favorable poll. Look at Obama.

Powell has, unlike Palin, never held an elected office. His opinions are just that, opinions and nothing more.

He has been an order taker his entire career, until he decided that he should make policy (without any justification, btw).

Anything that he says should be taken with a grain of salt and a taste of sour grapes.

You've hit it. Powell is insignificant and he's just trying to be relevent. Smart people tune him out with all the other white noise (no pun intended).

Just imagine how many smart young people would still be alive if Mr. Powell had only disobeyed Cheney and his underling GWB. How many lives have been destroyed and families burdened with the medical care of so many service people after being wounded in that big old desert?
Mr. Powell is correct. The time has come to fully support our President Obama.

Powell quit because he was NOT having Cheney Jr. aka Liz giving him orders. Rice was not an independent thinker. Rice is to GWB/Cheney just like Thomas is to Scalia. LOL

here is powell's statement:
In a one-page resignation letter released by the White House, Powell wrote “I am pleased to have been part of a team that launched the Global War Against Terror, liberated the Afghan and Iraqi people, brought the attention of the world to the problem of proliferation, reaffirmed our alliances, adjusted to the Post-Cold War World and undertook major initiatives to deal with the problem of poverty and disease in the developing world.”

i don't think powell actually got anything done, since we are still fighting the same wars-only going into more countries now to do so, and the global meltdown speaks for itself on the economic front.

Default layoff Obama.......?????

Didn't know we could lay him off !

What a super idea!

Of course if Powell meant to leave him alone, well that would require we abandon our rights to free speech and quietly be led in a direction we don't want to go. No, don't think I'll take general's advice unless he meant to layoff Obama as in terminating his tenure as president with a pink slip.

No arguement that is how I feel about the two of them, and quite frankly so does alot of other americans.

Just think a mere 4 years before Dumb azz was president C Powell was inline to be the first black president. Don't you think they knew that? his reputation was destroyed by those posturing idoits.
I wonder if Colin's wife was not concerned about the safety of her husband would you be defending his presidency the same way as you do Bush? Or the the thought of an intelligent blackman in power scare you?

I think that it is a shame that C Powell would not run for president b/c of percieved threats of racism, he would have been a very good one. He was a man that was not born wealthy and worked his way up through the ranks of the military (hear that GW) and was a leader of men.
