Falklands war part deux? The funny part of that war was when I recall how Argentines had full auto FALs but the Brits didn't.

I was in the navy too many years ago and on a trip around SA we stopped over in Argentina. Saw what was left of their fleet after the brits got done with them.

Argentina should shut up and make some Asado

This time, however, the Brits are almost on par economically with Argentina. They're also much more pacified as a society.

Default No.

Little Evita wannabe needs to do something to stir up support; nothing is better than doing something to stoke up national pride. I agree with Ferd, cook up some lomo, medium rare, and make me some shoes, and a belt to match.

We weren't involved last time.

I didn't mean there, I just meant in general, current armed conflict around the world.

Yes, i know we aren't involved in ALL of them, but quite a few.

What?

UK 2008 GDP: $2.65 trillion
Argentina 2008 GDP: $328 billion

Ehm - no? For one thing, the British armed forces of 1982 were basically engaged in two activities: Keeping the lid on Northern Ireland and preparing to fight the Warsaw Pact in Germany. Since then, they've been in shooting wars in half a dozen places, including Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. If anything, they're better aligned for fighting a campaign some 9000 miles from home than they were in 1982. You can push the Brits on some things, but they'd not look kindly on the Argentinians going for a rematch.
