I believe the pilot who crashed his plane into the IRS building to be a domestic terrorist. I am not persuaded by the arguments to the contrary. What do you think?
Maybe a the pilot was a suicide "dive bomber" but still a bomber trying to kill US civilians to send a political message and enact a political change or spark a revolution (as stated in his manifesto) nonetheless.
Daughter says pilot in Texas IRS crash was a hero - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100222/ap_on_re_us/us_plane_crash_pilot - broken link)
Does anyone else see the parallel to Al-Jazeera airing supportive messages from the family members of the 9/11 attacks?
Can someone clearly define the reasons we are applying a double-standard to terrorist attacks on US civilians?
I can only see one somewhat legitimate argument; and that is that this man was mentally unstable and his grievances were only imaginary fantasies of his depraved mind. He was wealthier than 98% of all the people in the world, he had a family, friend, he even flew planes in his free time. His tax problems were troublesome, but he really brought them upon himself. They certainly don't compare to the daily struggles of the majority of the people on the planet. So perhas he was the ultimate spoiled brat acting out in one final selfish tantrum of lethal impact.
I don't believe this to be the case, I think that tax protestors have a legitimate greviance, even if it is not on the level of finding enough to eat or a safe place to sleep. I believe this is a case of extremism where protest, through the application of directed pre-meditated violence, crosses the line to become a terrorist act. Please indicate your agreement or disagreement and reasoning.
called her father a hero for his anti-government views but said his actions, which killed an IRS employee, were "inappropriate."
if his actions were 'inappropriate,' then he sure as hell is no hero.

"How can you call someone a hero who after he burns down his house, he gets into his plane ... and flies it into a building to kill people?" Hunter told ABC." "My dad Vernon did two tours of duty in Vietnam. My dad's a hero."
The IRS / Federal Reserve are private companies that should have never been enacted in the first place. They control our economy, so they control us and our government.
Wow, the daughter certainly got brainwashed by her father. In the video it said she believed her father burned the house down because they paid property taxes and because of that it was part of the government he wanted to get rid of. Then the interviewer said the daughter and her father got mad at the government because when she was pregnant the government wouldn't give her Medicaid. Talk about hypocrisy.
I don't care what we label Stack---a suicide bomber, domestic terrorist or mentally ill---just so long as we people don't label him a hero. Many of us are more than happy to pay our share of taxes to keep important services coming. Ironic that the fire department services who responded to his house fire and the building on fire is paid for through property taxes.

Ah of course she was brain washed she doesn't toe the liberal pc line so she must be brainwashed. What nonsense you drivel. He was a patriot not a terrorist!
It is my opinion that this topic is merely a way of trying to be pc and say, "See, not all terrorists are Muslim." This guy was deeply troubled, but his anger was at the IRS, not everyone who had an ideology that was different from his own. Just because he did the same thing that the terrorists did, i.e. fly a plane into a building doesn't mean that they're equal. Both acts were horrible, but were not driven by similar motivation.

When you can tell me why the IRS applies a double standard when it comes to cabinet members.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I wouldn't read too much into what a daughter says about her dad. I remember Victoria Gotti claiming her father was "the last of the Mohegans (sic)!" after his arrest.
so to be a terrorist you have to hate the USA?
what about those who bomb churches or abortion clinics? they dont hate the US, but they are deemed terrorists...
this guy is a terrorists. domestic, but terrorist none the less.
and def not a hero. anyone who kills innocent people is not a hero.
hes an idiot. all suicide bombers are idiots.

Wow, I can't believe your status says: "To bad it wasn't a bigger plane." Do you have no empathy for all the innocent people who could have been killed if it had been a bigger plane? If Stack is your hero/patriot your sense of patriotism is severely warped. You are the one typing "nonsense" here, not me.
